Ash turned into a Pikachu because he realized 2 things

1. He could feel a physical change to his body anyway, meking him a temporary hybrid of Gastly and Pikachu.

2. He needs to do something so no one get's frealed out because the smoke messed with his transformation.

Yes Ash can talk to pokemon already, that's a given, and he doesn't "drink" the Potion in the Anime. Pikachu electrocutes the Couldron and Ash is caught in the crossfire technically

Now, the question should be, Why does Ash volunteer? Easy. He's still 10 and the thought of participating in an experiment is fun. A real magician! Who woulda thunk??

Now does he realize that none of this matters to him? After he transforms into a "Pikachu", yes. But it's not like he'll say it outloud

Highly recommend asking Questions anyway! Even if you don't wanna stir the pot or anything, sometimes small words help plenty.

Canon wise? Nope! It was a split portion between King getting knocked out first and a heavy sickness on Ash and Indigo.

As much as Pepper adores her mother, she wouldn't inflict that sort of pain on her uncles just so her mother lived.

Non-canon wise. I wanted a Bratty Peach. I wanted a moment where she could be little sister and thus- everything was made~

An artwork for motion practice ^^ Big big biggg thank you to Justice (pokemon-ash-aus) and Phlurrii for helping me figure this out! I don't wanna tag them again on here too coz i'm worried about overloading them ^^; but they helped so much!

In the fanfic era (before the comic), there's a time in Okita's life where she breaks away from her pokemon trainer's teachings, thinking she can't learn any more on how to fight or protect herself from her (Rachael) So, she travels to the source to test her meddle frequently in this time. Although she doesn't know or would even believe that Kanto is her biological Uncle at the time. She frequents the Kanto region where he teaches her basic combat skills. He's fully aware she can't use pokemon attacks, so he encourages her to use brute strength and her body to attack, as well as using telekinetic projectiles.
