A thing I really like about Joe Biden is his commitment to righting unglamorous wrongs. I know he’s got a team, but clearly he has hired some folks who understand logistics and systems and like the fucking paperwork of it all.

To be honest, it's probably good strategically, too.

He doesn't have the House, and his Senate majority is dependent on conservative Democrats. But there are a ton of little things he can do with executive power alone that'll run in the news for a few days. And he was able to get a lot through in legislation by sneaking it through in bigger bills.

The little stories will build up, and the people who benefit directly will know they benefited. Besides that, his opponent is almost guaranteed to be a garbage fire, so the choice in the next election will be "guy who has made my life a little better over the years" vs "guy who will definitely make my life a lot worse."

He was never going to user in the Progressive Utopia, but he is doing a lot of groundwork that genuinely helps.

I keep remembering my buddy, who was about to retire with all his benefits intact, but someone who didn't like him fucked him out of his benefits on the way out the door by using DADT as a cudgel.
