the BL remake of Flowers in the Attic
would be called
Pink Milk on the Rooftop
@heretherebedork and i have decided this
and you KNOW you want to see it
This must be reblogged whenever I am reminded we thought of this.
Seriously.
The amount that I want this to somehow be a show JUST to listen to people scream about it…
Also, honestly, I just want Pink Milk on a Rooftop on a t-shirt with the entire bottom being a rooftop level view of a city.
It’s the first time i have edited a FMV so if it’s not professional, pls be gentle with me. Hope you guys enjoy it.
Today i just listened to Jin Young singing my favorite song called “I don’t love you” by Urban Zakapa and i needed to do this FMV for Gahan. The lyrics suit them well especially in the ending scene.
Maybe this is a break up song but for Gahan, i don’t think it’s. They might tried to convince themselves that they don’t love each other at this moment so they can be separated temporarily.
Yohan might say that so he could leave to Switzerland. We all can see how hard it was for him try not run to Ga on, keep some distances and walk away. He wanted Gaon come with him and Elijah but deep down he knew that Gaon ’s not ready for this relationship yet. He’s too.
Gaon still feels guilty about what he did. He betrayed Yohan, hurted 2 people he loves most. It’s not easy to be forgiven like nothings happened.
Both of them need some time to recover, learn to forgive themselves and move on so when they meet again, they don’t need to say “i’m sorry” or “forgive me” anymore.
BL in Taiwan & Gay Marriage
The Taiwanese BL industry casually flexing Taiwan’s marriage equality muscles.
Taiwan is the only country in Asia where same sex marriage is legal.
Taiwanese BL would like you to know about it. And so would I, frankly. So here’s a chronicling of them flexing these well deserved (and hard earned) muscles.
History 2: Right or Wrong (2017) flexed first. At the time the courts had just put into effect that same sex marriages would be legal in two years, so the main characters plan to marry in two years. Then there is a flash forward scene of the two of them wearing wedding rings. This is the first example of two gay characters being legally married in an Asian BL drama.
Predictive flexing.
HIStory 3: Make Our Days Count (2019) the bridge proposal.
Craving You (2020) is half about a gay wedding and that wedding is depicted in the last episode.
We Best Love (2021) Flexes in season one and two, including an engagement.
History 4: Close to You (2021) has two couples flex in sequence and depicted the couple who got engaged in HIStory 3 getting married.
Papa & Daddy (2021) is much less BL and tunnels into being gay in Taiwan (rose tinted spectacles, of course). It showcases Pride* but also how the power of legalization and positive coverage by the mainstream media can broaden minds and guide culture from tolerance to acceptance. Legalization isn’t just so people have the same basic human rights and social protections, it’s so that non-queers realize that marriage equality is humane, decent, and good.
Be Loved In House: I Do (2021) a pretty near pitch perfect ultra soft BL that had the side dishes get engaged and it was so cute.
Love Is Science? (2021) ground breaking het romance where the main couple ends up sort of engaged but it’s the BL side couple who get the ultra romantic proposal in the end. Brilliant! Mark & OuWen will live on forever as my favorite disaster bi + confident gay pairing.
*** Quick note about Papa & Daddy’s Taipei Pride footage because I think it’s super important:
Taipei 2020 - March for the World
in 2020 Taiwan’s Pride in Taipei was called March for the World. Why? Because initially Taiwan managed to control C19 better than any other country, they were the only place able to hold pride safely, so they did it for all of us.
I don’t feel like they got enough recognition for this.
(source)
Taiwan has given us new additions for the cannon.
We are eternally grateful.

This Week In BL
July 2021 Wk 4
Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs.
Ongoing Series - Thai
- Golden Blood Ep 5 - honestly only Thailand would dare be this soft with a flipping bodyguard romance. Seriously? GAH. Plus PitchBank doing their cat & mouse thing. (Cat & puppy? Eh, whatever, it’s nahlak). Then they hit us up with sing feelings + musical montage flashbacks (and I’m sad). Ya win some, ya lose some. There were some nice almost kisses and a few fun tropes (lie on the ground, sleep on shoulder). Next week (since this is an 8 ep arc) is our ep 11 drama-doom? Weeee.
- The Best Story Ep 3 fin - i liked it, but I prefer YinWar being messy university idiots over sweet angsty high school boys with coming out issues and family drama. I really hope we get the full version of Love Mechanics or similar from them. I believe that they can hold down a longer series. Anyway, this ended up being a story of lost love and separation, so not technically a romance, old school BL instead, so for modern BL watchers NOT RECOMMENDED. Sorry all.
- My Boy the series Ep 4 - dropping, even though we got some actual relationship development…
- The Yearbook Ep 2 - we learn about the first split (hit close to home, disappointment in a friend not living up to their potential is real hard). I stand by this being the pulp version of ITSAY. It’s pretty angsty, but fine if that’s your thing.
- Top Secret Together Ep 11 - it felt like we suddenly went right back to the beginning with some of these couples in a “wait, is this really ep 11?” kind of way. And ooof is this series SLOW. Honestly, this should have been 10 eps or so total - and I don’t say that often.
That said anyone reminded of Sarawat in this bit with Copy’s dad?
Anygay, I was deeply charmed watching Nampu dance around the subject with Copy’s dad, while Copy is right there all “my cat-boyfriend doesn’t give a shit about being out or not” PANIC MODE. And Nampu buckles under the closet for Copy and hurts because of it, but communicates that to Copy. A nice subtle bit of acting I did not expect from a pulp.
Incidentally, miss translation on the captions in this scene. Copy’s dad doesn’t use him pronouns when referring to Nampu dating. The captioner should have been using singular they. Will someone please teach the ESLs about singular they/them?
Back to the drama. Sorry, apparently i have a lot to say about TST this week. The coming out bit was cute, very gently handled.
Also I kinda adore the fact that basically all CopyNampu’s friends know about them and Copy is not fooling ANYONE least of all his engineering buddies.
I seem to be falling into the KhunKaow Brothers trap with TST where, in the end, CopyNampu are the only couple I care about. Do I need to do myself a CopyNampu bootleg? That is the question. I guess that I have 4 more eps to decide.
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
- Ossan’s Love (Hong Kong) Eps 10-15 fin - found the rest on DC, it hooked back into the weird timeslip relationship advance of the Japanese original and that’s not a drama style I enjoy. It reminds me of Aeschylus (follow me here) in that all the action occurs off stage and then we are told about it later. Not that I wanted to see Tin/KK action (yech). Anyway, despite a superior cast, yet AGAIN I must conclude that this franchise is not for me. NOT REALLY RECOMMENDED.
- Be Loved in House: I Do (Taiwan) Ep 11 - apparently while mosquitos leave hickeys in Thailand, bees leave hickeys in Taiwan. Softest episode 11 ever? I think so. Will anything dramatic happen in this drama? I think not. Do we care? Nope.
- Given (Japan) Ep 2 - didn’t show up on DM or DC by Friday, but BL out of Japan can be a pain to find so I am hopping it’ll drop over the weekend. MDL said Ep 2 aired.
- Monster in Law AKA Mẹ Chồn Dâu Cáo (Vietnam) - on hiatus? Ended? Who knows.
- Light On Me (Korea) Ep 7-8 - Korea holds onto its record as the #1 distributor of second lead syndrome. Which is to say an excellent love triangle has landed (rare in BL). I don’t love a love triangle but if you’re gonna do it, this is the way. Bring on the pain. The most interesting thing to me is that if anyone needed a seme looking after him it’s DaOn - I wonder if the drama knows this?
BL News & Gossip
Delightful rumor that AiNi (everyone’s favorite gay advice himbos from Tonhon Chonlatee) are getting their own show. We support this message.

Thai BL that’s still coming!
We are halfway through 2021, but there is still more to look forward to. No promises on these actually releasing in 2021, some might edge into 2022, but either way it’s exciting.
Top 10 picks for most likely to actually happen:
Adaptation, of a Romeo & Romeo enemies (actually secret friends) to lovers supposedly filming now, trailer. From GMMTV starting some of their biggest stars with BL director Backaof attached (1000 Stars, He’s Coming to Me, Dark Blue Kiss, Still 2gether). Apparent in a Romeo & Romeo star-crossed story. Should be excellent but low heat.
The WinTeam spin off from Until We Meet Again that we have been waiting for forever from WeTV with established director New (who did UWMA). Adaptation of the novel Hemp Rope which tells WinTeam’s romance from the start, so we might get some recon/reboot action (like LBC2). I expect this to be slightly higher heat than what we’d get if it were GMMTV.
Mark Siwat as a delivery boy who inspires a grumpy chef. It feels like we are in Oxygen territory only a bit darker and more dramatic. Mark is a great actor and I LOVE food set BL, also this is an adaptation (Thailand always does better working from an actual story) so I have really high hopes for this one. (full trailer)
This is an arranged marriage, home/office set, Thai BL staring Zee (of Why R You). The sons of two companies are engaged to each other in a political union. One doesn’t want an arranged marriage while the other wants to win him over. (teaser)
From GMMTV directed by Film (Theory of Love) with unknowns as the leads, this is a secret admirer harem romance with a touch of Cyrano de Bergerac and dose of Boys Over Flowers. Theo returns from France and starts a written flirtation inside a library book with the mysterious Enchante. His best friend Ak hunts for Enchante’s real identity, and 4 senior boys step forward - all intersted in dating Theo: a nerd, a musician, an artist, and a jock. This is a novel framework for Thai BL (although not for yaoi). It will be low heat but very pretty.
Stars familiar side dish Gun Napat (Techno from LBC) as a rich kid who needs a bodyguard (trailer). So it looks to be the Thai version of Where Your Eyes Linger.
One of the most hotly anticipated BLs because it’s supposed to be a high production value mafia drama and the original book is very violent, kinky, and high head. Rumor is it has started filming. Mafia kid, Kinn, is flees into the arms of student (and national judo champion) Porsche. Kinn then blackmails Porsche into becoming his bodyguard. They fall in love. There is a surrounding cast of brothers and bodyguards also with BL romances and a turf war. My guess is they are gunning for the TharnType & Manner of Death audience. But Thailand is scared of dark BL, so we could end up with something inconsistent. Jeff & Gameplay (of Ingredients) playi Kinn’s younger brother and Porsche’s younger brother respectively.
Love Mechanics the series
It’s with established BL director New (+ 2 others), featuring VeeMark and a couple of the other original En of Love cast members. Looks like a retelling meets extension of their original story (a la LBC2). YinWar were the most popular couple from the original so it makes sense to use them, but so far no actual filming rumors and this pair keeps getting associated with other projects like The Best Story (mini series).
Middle Love AKA Middleman’s Love
This one is confusing as we got a teaser, but Jimmy & Tommy are supposed to be filming Korean/Thai BL Peach of Time. Then Mandee dropped a “mini intro” for something called Bed Friend. But we thought these two (James & Net) were the side dishes for Middle Love. So, HUH? There’s no director attached or much promo. But it’s an office romance based on a novel so it could be really good and different for Thailand! Jade’s heart is hardened after a life spent being overlooked because he’s so average when compared to his family and friends. And then the hot new intern, Mai, comes into his life. Looks to be Thailand’s version of Cherry Magic from their #1 softest ship? If script and production do even a half-arsed job it’s going to be adorable. Low heat and highly toothsome.
For GMMTV with established queer award-winning director Anucha attached and starring OffGun. This is the dark, gritty gang-set BL series we all expected from Motorcycle (before it disappeared from the radar). They are having Gun play twins. This will happen or people will riot. Since it’s GMMTV + OffGun expect low heat but high drama.
Other Possibilities
2gether the movie (Thai trailer) - intended release April 22 but is now postponed due to a surge in C19 cases in Thailand.
Don’t Say No - from the producers of TharnType this is the JaFirst vehicle many have been waiting for. Friends to lovers + a good boy/bad boy pairing on a sports romance foundation. It’s basketball so they tapped Meen as well (he’s semi-pro). The bad news? Guess who is writing the darn thing? Yep it’s MAME. So, ya know, expect some slam dunk kidnapping, a light dribbling of rape, and me turning into a basketcase.
Love Area - Restaurant set, stars Pak Chavitpong (the only good thing about Cupid Coach) and the OST is sung by Jeff Satur (Ingredients).
Love Stage - staring Kaownah & Turbo, adapted from the Japanese Yaoi manga/anime/live action BL of the same name. Japan’s BL wasn’t successful and didn’t highlight the crossdressing prevalent in the original manga. Will Thailand have the guts to do it justice?
Miracle of Teddy Bear - surreal drama series for Ch3 with known director Paajaew attached. Might not be strictly BL. Cast is all established actors but only Tee (Beam in 2 Moons) has done BL. (teaser)
My Boy the series is a new Thai BL university pulp that looks like a pastiche, but there’s a 7 minute trailer so you don’t need to go in with a blind eye. Enemies to lovers, although one of the characters is out and gay. I’m interested, but I never met a Thai pulp I wasn’t willing to give too many chances too. It’s supposed to be airing on Line TV.
My Engineer 2 - the second season, continuation of the original story arcs, bu with a shifted focus onto the side couples, so far there is just limited promo content no filming rumors, and the anchor couple (PerthLay) are busy with other projects (Y-Destiny, Close Friends, KinnPorsche).
The Sweet Robot - has been cast but with predominantly unknowns, Sib from I am Your King is the only one i recognize. Supposed to have sf/f elements.
Secret Admirer - Adaptation from a novel about an ordinary guy still in love with the older boy he lived next door to during university. There seem to be several other couples as well. From director Anusorn Soisa-ngim (Present Perfect, 2 Moons 2, Call It What You Want) who is known for complex LGBTQ+ rep and cross country projects.
Secret Crush on You co-produced by and featuring (but NOT staring) Saint and directed by Cheewin with all fresh faces. Previously known as Stalker, it looks like pure pulp but could be better than expected as it’s adapted from a novel (like Nitiman).
Tell the World I Love You - Perth (Ae in LBC) opposite Bas (Wayo/Wayo) in this action movie. Established director Poj, support cast include Bank (Gen Y) has already been filmed but was to release into Thai theaters - delayed/shuttered due to C19?
You’re My Sky. MDL listing makes this sound like a standard college BL, but trailer portrays a sports romance. Stars now familiar faces from Y-Destiny. (teaser)
Not Thailand
Generally Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan don’t release trailers until they’re mostly done filming, so the anticipation window isn’t usually longer than a month. And Japan doesn’t seem to believe in trailers at all. But there are a few in the wind:
Ossan’s Love is the Hong Kong remake of the (bizarrely popular) Japanese original as a 15 ep series. Who knows how censored it will be… Hong Kong and China and all that. It’s office set BL, lots of comedy and I am actually looking forward to a different take since I found the original story interesting even though I wasn’t wild about the execution. Think Cherry Magic only, no magic and WAY more flailing. On some ap. Sigh.
Peach of Time - crossover project between Korea & Thailand involving Mii2 AKA JimmyTommy AKA SaifahZon (publicity stills). This is not the first co-funded co-acted BL venture: Call It What You Want was a Thailand & Taiwan joint project (language: Thai), and Present Still Perfect was Thailand & Japan (language: Thai, Japanese, English). It looks like Peach is Korean set and support cast though, so I think we can expect high production values, a short run, Korean language, and no trailer until they’re done filming. (I really REALLY want a Japan/Taiwan co-project.) I’m a little surprised, I thought they would set it in Thailand since it’s so much cheaper to film there.
Light On Me is a 16 episode high school set BL from Korea (although those might be short eps). Still! Loner boy joins the student council and things get complicated with the president and vice president of said council both interested in him (?). There is also another boy and a girl complicating matters. Honestly, I thought this was anime, so when it came onto my radar a few weeks ago I didn’t report on it to you. My bad. It looks like typical Korean BL, low heat, sweet, high production values, everyone v pretty. EXCITING!!! On Viki (teaser).
Made in Rooftop - Korean BL that looks like a light, bright version of Life: Love on the Line meets Queer as Folk. Looks like a manic pixie dream boy + upright serious (but lost) out gay characters. MDL has it listed as a movie and their description is pants, but this trailer on Insta gives an idea what it’s about.
This Week in BL
July 2021 Wk 3
Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs.
Ongoing Series - Thai
- Golden Blood Ep 4 - yay, my favorite part of any bodyguard romance: the homoerotic self defense classes! Many cute tropes in this episode like hand holds, high-low hugs, sleep facing. Also I am really starting to like the side couple. Super flirty sunshine meets mock-tsundere is a new favorite. I’m enjoying this show! It’s pretty much Thailand’s take on Where Your Eyes Linger and there is NOTHING wrong with that since it’s so much more cheerfully gay. (Nothing against WYEL, it’s just a different style and aesthetic.)
- My Boy the series Ep 3 - there is a LOT of punching down humor especially where femme, trans, and women are concerned. AND I’m finding it duller than dishwater. I might drop it.
- The Yearbook Ep 1 - it’s fine, I guess. It’s riding hard on the leads and I’m not sure they are strong enough to carry it. It’s not off-putting. It’s not on-putting either.
- The Best Story Ep 2 - endearingly awkward and cute. Best’s friends are great and War gives pretty heart eyes. He’s not bad on the guitar either, so the sing your feelings could have been A LOT worse. (I still fast-forwarded though. I’m not a masochist. ) No idea what that note was about but with these two, it’s all still very cute.
- Top Secret Together Ep 10 - I like the new couple, can we keep them? No one is surprise by the “not brothers” revelation, and if you were, I am VERY disappointed in you and all my efforts on tropes and romance arcs is for naught. NAUGHT, I TELL YOU. (See? Stepbrothers it’s so bad, it could be much worse.) Where was I? Oh right the “he’s too young to understand” conceit is stupid. Meanwhile, my babies are back in form and got a ton of screen time. This was the CopyNampu show and I am quite happy with that. They are such boyfriends, I don’t know why they’re pretending they aren’t, doesn’t fool anyone.
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
- Ossan’s Love (Hong Kong) Eps 8-9 - honestly Tin elevates disaster bi to a whole new level of disaster, like 3 Stooges level. Siu Muk is just about the cutest little muffin ever, and if Tin hurts him, ooooo, I’ll be mad. I have to say the wardrobe for this drama is quirky as all goddamn get up. Their knitwear game is wild.
- Friend or Lover (Taiwan) Ep 4 fin- I guess that’s it? If so, it has a sad ending. If there is more, MDL isn’t saying that. So under this context? NOT RECOMMENDED.
- Be Loved in House: I Do (Taiwan) Ep 10 - future cafe dad side dishes got a lot of screen time, meanwhile our main couple were tiny idiots. Next week is episode 11 and I think we can expect a bit of trauma drama, but everything is so low stakes in this show it hardly matters. I love this series but it is kinda like the lite beer to the HIStory franchise’s coffee stout.
- Given (Japan) Ep 1 - this is an adaptation of the anime (which came from a yaoi manga and i really wasn’t into either), but they are condensing it into only six 25 min episodes so maybe that will help? This is a high school rock star romance featuring the boy with the magic voice and the hot grumpy guitarist. I have to say IT’S OFF TO A GREAT START. And boy am I glad we are getting something from Japan this year! I missed their style of BL. Makes me very nostalgic and I might have to rewatch Seven Days now.
- Monster in Law AKA Mẹ Chồn Dâu Cáo (Vietnam) Ep 13 - on hiatus? Or? We not sure.
- Light On Me (Korea) Ep 5-6 - OMG SO AWKWARD. Why does it have to be so awkward? Stupid adorable shy inept soft boys. ARGH. Tropes are starting to pile up: symmetrical stare, uncomfortably close distance (lapel grab variant), catch me, baby is clumsy and weak, messy eater, heart knows, etc… Also I have decided TaeKyung falls into the adorable bean nugget category. The bit where he touches his own face after a tiny cheek caress just because no one had given him any physical affection in so long, broke my flipping heart. Poor baby. And we are getting a solid little love triangle going, so DRAMA is coming. Or what amounts to it in K-BL.
(Tell us about it, stud.)
In Case You Missed It
Rakutan did a massive take down serve on YouTube so if you were getting your Taiwanese and Korean BL there (HIStory, Color Rush, Seven Days, etc), it’s mostly been removed. Some of it is still on Viki though… which would appear the be the point.
We Best Love No 1 For You completed it’s special reissue run. I caught a little bit of the extra footage, some came from the Pei Shou Yi special and they tagged the full break-up onto the end. But there is very very little that we haven’t seen before. The rips are a slightly better quality than pervious, if that means anything to you.
I noticed this background rainbow for the first time, at Gao Shi De’s mom’s place, she references the paintings that Gao Shi De does inspired by Zhou Shu Yi and I wonder if this is one of them.
Super cute Thai BL microfilm Once in Memory. 17 minutes of charming, high school set, very winning, well written, and excellent flirting. Nothing major, all we get is a hand hold but it’s well earned. It’s supposedly getting a second installment of the same content from the POV of the other character. RECOMMENDED.
Breaking News
KinnPorsche is back on, with the writer rejoining the team? I don’t know. I do know writers throw hissy fits a lot (the natural consequence of surrounding an introvert with extroverted drama geeks). I’m calm. I’ll be happy if it happens and untroubled if it doesn’t.
Singto rumored to be leaving GMMTV. Still going to do Baker Boys.
OffGun Not Me update here. They’re workshopping, production is delayed, won’t release until after September.
Peach of Time dropped a making of BTS but it acts a lot more like a long trailer and it looks GOOD. Like really good: Korean production values with Thai talent (Mii2 AKA JimmyTommy). I’m suddenly super excited about it. I highly recommend watching the BTS as I think it gives better insight than the original teaser. And it looks like they are filming which means they got funded, so this one might really happen. Mixed languages, mostly Korean & Thai but also a little English & Japanese.
This is not the first co-funded co-acted BL venture: Call It What You Want was a Thailand & Taiwan joint project (language: Thai), and Present Still Perfect was Thailand & Japan (language: Thai, Japanese, English). There’s also Because of You which is Taiwanese but one actor is/speaks Korean and another is bilingual. (Ask me how much I want a joint Taiwan+Japan project? SO MUCH.)
Next Week Looks Like This:
Some shows may be listed later than actual air date for International subs accessibility reasons.
Links to watch are provided when possible, ask in a comment if I missed something.
I was rewatching this episode, and Xiaoge is almost certainly watching Wu Xie in this scene (his gaze is directed toward the direction where Wu Xie was sitting at that point in the episode), and…he probably expects to die soon. And he may have lost all his memories, but he still knows, at least, exactly how much Wu Xie means to him (like how he recalled Wu Xie’s name immediately upon meeting him again for the first time, like how he instinctively jumped to shield Wu Xie from the threat of an explosion).
And Xiaoge also knows they’re not safe yet. So not only does he think he will die soon, he likely thinks they all will die soon. Does he think about Pan Ma’s warning? That if the two of them are together, sooner or later one will bring about the death of the other? Does he think that prediction is coming true, that he wasn’t able to keep Wu Xie safe until the end, that Wu Xie will die here at the hands of the Miluotuo, all because of himself?
This was also the only time an insert song was subbed in an episode, and there’s a line in this song: “If I disappeared from this world, only your gaze would see”. First of all, Xiaoge, on the brink of death, on the brink of “disappearing from this world”–where does his own gaze land? Of course, on the man who once vowed to remember him, who told him that their burdens are shared, who swore to walk with him until the very end of the journey (is the journey’s end here already, he wonders). And Wu Xie sees him, like the song says, like Wu Xie promised.
And again, Xiaoge’s own gaze–it’s that familiar, fixed, intensity that he’s looked at Wu Xie with in the past. The light in his eyes is for one person alone right now, and he keeps his gaze riveted on Wu Xie, despite how much pain he must be in. He endures the pain (like he’s been trained since he was young), fights it, to watch Wu Xie, like he’s looking at his “only connection to this world”, if only for a few moments longer. Does he think to himself, that he’s finally beginning to find that “connection”, find his place in this world, only to be on the verge of losing it all?
But what can he do now? Nothing, not anymore, and he knows that very well–from the weakening rasp of his breath; from the way the stabbing pain in his abdomen that had shocked his thoughts into momentary lucidity is dulling to a distant, pleasant numbness; from the flickering of his vision in and out of an almost comforting darkness…
So he watches Wu Xie, the one person who he can still see clearly, who he has always seen clearly (though how much of that clarity is only imagined now, he doesn’t know).
Pan Ma’s warning rings like a death knell in his head; shreds of an almost-forgotten promise (”If you disappeared, at least I would know”) begin stir at the desolate corners of the foggy labyrinth that makes up his memories, and he thinks–I wasn’t able to protect him.
But selfishly, he tells himself–if there is nothing else in this world he is allowed to want, then he at least wants to see Wu Xie, as long as he can still keep his eyes open, just this one last time.
Oh my goodness, my heart!! This is such a beautiful description of this scene. And YES, 1000% yes to everything. I had similar thoughts and couldn’t get over how fixed Xiaoge’s gaze was on Wu Xie, plus the lyrics of the song, and - and - and - aaaaaaarg 😭 And then later, being carried, he wakes up to tell Wu Xie that at least he didn’t cause Wu Xie’s death … The unspoken goodbye was so painful! But at the same time, you could see his obvious relief that he was the one dying and not the other way around 🥺 Now, I’m just really really hoping for some follow up hospital scene where he wakes and realises he’s not dead and the first person he sees is Wu Xie 🤞☺️
