Nothing funnier than Link getting the Tony Hawk treatment

You know, Courage is a great trait to have no doubt. It’s super useful for a hero in stories. But it never felt as good to me as Wisdom and Power in Zelda. Sure it comes with a boost in strength and stuff but they all do. Power doubles down, and wisdom grants both better magic as well as, well, wisdom.
Tears of the Kingdom managed to change my mind cause when the tutorial area ends by being told to get to a place and Link does it by skydiving headfirst into a lake an honestly ridiculous distance, and then spends the game doing crazy stuff from flying on hoverbikes to making flamethrower boomerangs, it solidifies that yeah courage is the Perfect ability to give to the person the player controls.

And for the people asking “Well if you don’t support it irl then why would you like it in fiction?!” Because when it’s happening irl real people are suffering and dying and that’s horrible and I’d never want that. But when it’s fiction, when no real people are being hurt or killed, it’s interesting to explore the experience, the effects it may have, and to an extent experience the emotions involved without actually having to experience the horrible thing. You explore scary, dangerous things from a safe distance.

So I beat Totk after Weeks and who knows how many hours and wow. Just wow. The game blows botw out of the water. The size and scale, the creativity, and the story is much better. It really feels like they learned every lesson they could and capitalized on it. I did every shrine and found all the lights and I STILL didn’t get to everything the game had to offer.
I need to let the recency bias wear off before I make a call on if its my fav Zelda. While I prefer TP’s story and some aspects of its combat, TotK just has so much to offer it could oust it as my favorite. It’s that good. The finale only cementing how good it was.

Fun fact in addition: Cary Elwes wasn’t allowed to be part of that scene because he kept laughing. The Westley on the table was dummy.
This is AFTER he broke a toe riding Andre the Giant’s ATV, and got concussed when he and Christopher Guest tried to make the scene where Count Rugen knocks Wesley out more convincing. Mandy Patinkin busted the rib trying not to laugh, and also accidentally stabbed Guest during their fight scene. About the only person who didn’t get some form of overenthusiasm-induced injury or illness during filming was Robin Wright, who had to repeatedly get her dress burnt up in the fire swamp scene because Goldman ruined one of the takes by screaming “Oh my god, she’s on fire!”

This is a show about golf.
Does it have lesbians in it? I can deal with the complete aneurysm I’ll get from watching anything Golf related if it’s got that much Extra™️ AND it’s yuri.
Not only does it have lesbians, it is exactly as subtle about the yuri as it is about everything else. A character literally looks at two people and says “Lily flowers are blooming” to outright state “yeah these gals gay”.
I wish i could draw so i could see the golf lesbians in the barbie and ken mugshot meme. Not a sentence i thought i’d say but there it is.
