due to some unforeseen & concurrent mental health issues, physical health issues, & personal life issues, i am now going to be flying back to and staying in New York City for another month or so (up until early September) to get my bearings with friends and family before going back to the UK.

not reblogging because i think people most who say shit like this have good intentions but i fucking hate this shit. please stop deploying How Much You Love Me as an argument to win stupid petty identity politics fights on the internet. furthermore, bisexuality has not ever and will not ever 'totally' include anybody, because bisexuality is not a monolith & there are no requirements to identifying with it. plenty of bisexual people are transphobic, and specifically define trans people out of their sexuality, just like any other varied, diverse group of people. positioning bi people as specifically enlightened about gender & inherently having progressive view on trans people & trans sexuality (either historically or contemporarily) is literally the same shit you are complaining about with pansexuality. please think about what things mean before saying them. thank you.

tbh i think the first thing all tumblr users should be asking for together is a better “report” function. the website has a massive problem with harassment, revenge porn, and terfs (& other fascists) just openly convening on how to next harm random minorities. even fucking twitter has a dedicated way to report somebody for misgendering people maliciously. there is zero reason we shouldn’t be asking for this. it is an absolute trainwreck that we do not have it & we should start complaining loudly until we do.

btw if cisgender americans (or people from any country, to be honest, but i mostly see this in the states which is where i am rn) want to be good allies to trans people, they have to stop making fun of british immigrants (etc) who decided to leave britain to move to their country. because we are at the point now where those aren’t “privileged rich white people” but asylum seekers. marginalised people have a lot of reasons to want (or need) to move countries & treating them like rich privileged people for this is fucking backwards

i don’t know enough to get by, but it’s a language i am interested in learning & know enough of that i can like read street signs, order food etc usually.

you’re misunderstanding the pro of the US: i have people there who are more willing & able to look after me than at home, & even the less safe places often still have pockets of legal safeties (like even if up state new york sucks a lot compared to the city, new york state isn’t going to suddenly turn on trans rights, which can’t be said for the UK in the same way)
