Look, writerโs block is not some giant, mysterious monster. Itโs you, in your head, holding yourself back because youโre afraid what youโre writing sucks. And hereโs the truth, yeah, maybe it does suck. But you know what? Thatโs okay. Writing something bad is still better than writing nothing at all. You donโt wait for inspiration to strike, you show up, write the garbage draft, and then fix it later. Writing isnโt about perfection, itโs about getting it done. Even if itโs one crappy page at a time.
Listen, you canโt write perfect characters. No one cares about reading about someone who never screws up. Your characters need to make bad decisions, they need to hurt people, and they need to be hurt. They should doubt themselves and do things they regret. Thatโs where the magic happens, when theyโre flawed, messy, and human. People donโt fall in love with characters because theyโre flawless; they fall in love because those characters remind them of the chaos inside themselves. So donโt be afraid to put your characters through hell. Only then will their journey mean something.

Spring Writing
April 1, 2024|Blogging
We are all familiar with spring cleaning, clearing out the clutter from winter months, and being inside so much. But what about spring writing? Is it any different writing in the spring as opposed to the winter? I think so, not only are days getting longer but spring is usually a time for happiness and rebirth. So what better time to start an exciting new writing project. I Find romance or children's books are good genres to write in spring. I don't know about you, but I feel happier in spring than I did during winter. So go ahead, start that new project, and remember to "Enjoy the Write!" KSCarsonย
Shout-out to multilingual writers who are writing in their second (or third and so on) language.
The frustration of speaking it fluently, but still having to google basic words when you're writing.
The absolute joy of finding a word that sounds just perfect and conveys exactly what you mean.
Doubting all your grammar and being afraid to post it or even send it to a beta reader.
The euphoria of someone calling your use of this language, that is not your mother tongue, beautiful.
