WIKIPEDIA REPORT: changed an article about Oliver the chimpanzee to remove phrasing that referred to chimpanzees as "monkeys".
I've been meaning to start doing this for a while, but my plan is to just keep a small record here on my blog of edits I make to Wikipedia. I haven't taken on any big edits yet but I fairly regularly fix small grammar and spelling issues.
In my opinion Oliver looks more like a bonobo than a chimpanzee but I'm not familiar enough with the case to know if the genetic testing they did at the time was capable of differentiating between the two species.
I agree he looks like a bonobo with his fucked up scuffed hairline but i think they should have been able to differentiate between chimps and bonobos at the time.
