After talking with a friend (who coincidentally deleted their blog due to this very problem), I think alot of us sometimes feel like our art or writing is horrible or bad compared to others, because sometimes others get more notes or more comments or even more “recognition” from others.
Please know that thats not true!
Sometimes I also look at others fics and Im like “What is the point of me continuing my fic, when all these other people write more beautifully than me, or have better ideas?”
But thats not fair to the me that worked hard on my fics at the start.
Please hang in there. I know its hard, but your art or writing isn’t bad. Our talents are EVER evolving. Your talent does not depend on the recognition you receive or on the notes you get.
To add to this: if others make you feel like your art or writing is horrible or lesser-then, block them, flush them and rid yourself of that life sucking energy. Its free, its simple, and you do not deserve that mental strain in your life. Like, ever.
A perfect example: Van Gogh. Throughout his life he thought his art was shit. He considered them to be failures, including himself.
Today, we look at his art and it is beautiful. It is beautiful and painful and downright emotional to look at, knowing what he went through.
He viewed them all as trash, and we, the people he will never know about, view them as pieces of art.
