Socials Update

With various platform releases recently, I thought I’d update my socials list for anyone who wants to follow me or support me elsewhere:

[I also have a personal/political/shitposting twitter & mastodon that I’m sure you’ll find out about if you follow the twitter one above.]

I don’t use instagram much, and thanks to its lack of web posting I doubt I’ll use threads as much as twitter either, but it’s there in case it takes off or changes in the future.

So I'm going a little bit insane, hoping you can help me. I loveeee your real lips revisited cc and cant live without it, I downloaded the updated version for infants but in my game the facepaint and lips(and eyes) options under the makeup part are unavaible for me to use I just can't click on it. It wasn't like that before when infants were first released. Do you know of a way to fix this please I'm desperate.

Hi! I’ve just tested in my game and they’re all working fine, for all life stages, infants included. I haven’t received any other reports about them not working. Might they be conflicting with something else you have installed? Perhaps try removing everything but the lips from your mods folder and testing them again to rule that out?

Hi, can I turn to you for advice about DoF instrument? Maybe you faced this before, but my research was inconclusive.

Any focus simulation tool I have (ADOF, CinematicDOF, FocalDOF) does not blur the background. Here's the video (https://youtu.be/Rj9EXN3Dgyo). Perhaps I missed some critical tools or settings in the setup?

What I have: ReShade 4.9.1 Clear Bloom and Thadched by you Installed AstraiFX, Fubax, FXShaders, Include, OtisFX, PD80, qUNIT, SweetFX-master (updated to latest available versions on GitHub)

Thank you so much! <3

Hi there!

It looks to me like the depth buffer is reversed.

In the ReShade menu, underneath the main shader list, there's a button that says something like 'edit preprocessor definitions'. Go ahead and click on that and a little window will open that should have 4 lines of code.

Find the one that says

reshade_depth_input_is_reversed

You'll probably find it has a 1 after it. Change that 1 to a 0 and press enter. ReShade should reload at this point, but if it doesn't click the reload button at the very bottom of the ReShade menu.

Now DoF should blur the background instead of the foreground!

hey idk if you do WCIFs but would you happen to know where i can find the hair your sims has in your icon?

Hi! It's by the wonderful @teanmoon and it's called Evelyn. I have a recolour, that Violet uses, but it's no longer available unfortunately. But the original is!

Another couple of shots using the Nice Guy Lamps shader, just to show what's possible (they're not great shots lol), also the settings I was using in the earlier shots. I want to play around more with the depth options today.

  • Original Lighting: lower = darker background; higher = more of the original scene's lighting comes through
  • Position: left = moves the light from left to right; middle = moves the light up and down; right = not sure but I think it moves the light forward and back
  • Precise Position: same as above but different. The right-hand number at -0.002 was perfect for the strength of light and shadows I wanted. Any higher or lower had a huge impact on how it looked
  • Shadow Softness: anything higher than 0 causes noise/dither on the edges of shadows. I believe he wants to fix this one day but for now it means this is really only suited for anything where sharp shadows look good.

You can add 4 different 'lamps' or point lights. I only needed 1 for this effect, which aims to simulate flash photography. Adding more could be really cool for photoshoots, especially since you can change the colour. I'm going to experiment in the little in-game photo studio I've build later and see what I can do. Having the option of 4 lamps also means you can set up 1 like this for flash photography, then turn that off and turn on the others for different situations without having to lose and reset your settings all the time.

Finally updating to ReShade 5.8.0 (I was on 5.6.0) and taking a look at a handful of new shaders. It’s always annoying having to set up a new installation how I like it, but once it’s done it’s done.

your pet hospital build is so nice!! the name is a kinda ironic because eucalyptus is poisonous to dogs (i think???) not like that matters but i thought it was silly enough to mention. have a nice day :)

haha, I didn't know that! I called it that because it's on Eucalyptus Lane, but oh dear, let's hope the dogs don't lick the walls lol

I'm glad you like it!

GREENHOUSE BUILD SET in Image Spectra by amoebae

I used the slatted wall from the Greenhouse Haven kit in my last build and thought it could do with some more colours. Then I realised I should really do the windows and doors to match. And then I remembered the gable end. And the roof. And the plain wall.

So here they are! They all come in the Image Spectra palette. The windows and doors have separate catalogue entries for the different types of glazing: clear, lattice (shown in screenshot), and mesh. That leads to lots of package files, so I've merged them together.

The roof looks funky. I can never get them right. They're always too bright. It looks fine from inside, but you might want to avoid the lighter colours if you're planning on taking screenshots of the outside. Or don't, I'm not the boss of you.

TOU, requirements, and credits: Share and use as you wish, but please do so freely and always allowing others to do the same with your resulting content. Requires the Greenhouse Haven kit. With thanks to @fiddlefolk for the Image Spectra palette.

I still have 3 commissions to complete from my May refresh sale, then I’ll re-open them (I’ve made a note of everyone who’s expressed interest, but in case I forget to contact you specifically please keep an eye out for when they’re reopened).

In the meantime, I’m doing a quick recolour of the Greenhouse kit build items! I used the white slatted wall in my last build, and it’s such a versatile wall it needed more colours. But then obviously I need to do the gable and the windows and doors to match, and of course each of the windows and doors needs 3 versions each for the different glazing options. A bigger project than I expected when I thought I’d just knock out a quick wall recolour!

Hopefully should be done by Wednesday (I’m not around tomorrow).

EUCALYPTUS PET HOSPITAL - a multi-use lot by amoebae

Made by request. Eucalyptus Pet Hospital has everything your furry friend needs to keep them well and happy. A large veterinary practice fills the ground floor, along with a pet grooming room and a training ground. Upstairs is a residential space, perfect for your chief vet to live on site. Out back is a beautiful greenhouse, chicken coop, and there may even be a few wildlife friends to help you along the way. Uses LittleMsSam's Live In Vet lot trait, and lots of cc!

Made for 7 Eucalyptus Lane in San Sequoia.

---

I used lots of cc for this build. You can find a spreadsheet containing all the links you need here.

Additionally, I've included my own cc in the download.

I have every build/buy pack and kit and used a lot of them for this build. Anything missing can be replaced with whatever you have in your own game.

---

You can see some screenshots of the lot here: https://imgur.com/a/jICHT1c

---

INSTALLATION:

- Place the loose Tray files in your Tray folder

- Add the cc from the spreadsheet and my download to your mods folder if you don't already have it

- Remember to tick the 'Include CC' box when searching for the lot in your library

---

With thanks to everyone whose wonderful cc gave me so much inspiration, and to @cyanastrolosims who requested this build, which was so much fun to make.

Update on what I’m doing atm re TS4. I’m working on a big ol’ commission atm, but hope to have it finished before too long. I have some more lined up from my May sale still, apologies to those waiting in the queue for my perpetual slowness - you have the patience of saints <3

I want to slip in a speedy recolour of the slatted greenhouse wall too. It’s kind of nice in moderation in regular builds, obv needs more colours. Should I do the plain greenhouse wall too? I don’t think it’s needed tbh because I’ve done so many plain walls in my palettes in the past, it would feel kinda redundant?

Hello! I'm a user who loves your Reshade. Is it okay to use your MultiLUT in any game other than Sims4 and share a preset that includes it? Tried to find a TOU for this but couldn't. I'm sorry if there's already instructions.

Hi! Sure, that's fine. If it's one of the ones that uses Prod80's shader you'll need to advise your users to download his pack to get it to work, otherwise if it's Full Bloom all you need is the multilut.fx and the png.
