@phedrend

please do not reduce the stellar performance of letitia wright as shuri to shipping fodder.

she is so much more than that. her emotional/mental/physical/spiritual arc is one that is unlike anything we’ve seen in the MCU.

put some respect on HER NAME.

It’s gross that all I see in her tag right now is shuri x namor

Like did we not see the same film??? How much she went through? The journey from shutting the world/her mother out in her grief to losing everything to connecting with an African-American black girl genius and RISKING her Life to protect Riri…to finding common ground with Namor to losing her MOTHER the last family she had left to using her immense knowledge to take that dusty bracelet and recreate the heart shaped herb go to the ancestral plane meet Killmonger who fed her rage brought on by all this loss to embracing the mantle of Black Panther and realizing it was her duty now to beating ass to leading her people to taking the advice of M’Baku, Nakia, Ramonda and T’Challa’s teachings to spare Namor’s life to protect her people…to the mid credit scene…DO NOT PLAY WITH HER!!!!!

Won’t lie, the fact that FRANCE was the country called out and exposed by Queen Ramonda filled me with such immense glee. The entire scene was amazing.

I’m French and I was so thrilled that it was France that tried to invade the Wakanda base and got called out for it!

Because of all the history of colonization France has, it was a perfectly logic choice and I’m glad that they made it! France is obviously not the only country with a history of colonization but I just think it was a great choice. My grandad still has his ancestors weapons from that era hanged on the living room hall and I hate it. People shouldn’t be proud to have done that. And no one is teaching about that in French schools either…

“Villanelle is a complex individual who struggles to find love with Eve despite being deprived of it for most of her life. When you present a queer character like this, and at the end of the series instill the idea that all that work and suffering has no payoff other than dying in your partner’s arms, that death is still the bleak fate befitting of Villanelle, that Eve (who’s gone through many intense battles in pursuit of this relationship) is meant to end the story screaming in agony, alone, watching her dead lover float away after an out-of-nowhere sniper attack…yeah, I’ll let you figure out how that affects the queer psyche”

A genuinely friendly reminder that this is how the books end: them together, living their lives happily. Villanelle doesn't die and gets a linguistics degree.

“the quality of a show cannot always be judged by audience reaction.”

??? what 🤨 that's exactly what it's judged by. why else are you making the show, then? I'm sure you all worked hard, and I applaud you — that does not make what you created good. it's like saying the quality of a beer can't be judged by those who drink it. it does not matter how much effort you put into it, if the end product isn't good, it JUST ISN'T GOOD.

I can’t stop thinking about jodie and how she must have felt having to film this after all the times she felt she left so much of herself in villanelle and if watching that was pure agony I can’t imagine her having to film it. I love her so much and nobody could have played villanelle like she did and she deserved so much better for it.

Villanelle isn’t dead.

I know this sounds like denial but I have a theory.

At the beginning of season 4 we saw villanelle as jesus.

Next Sunday is the 17th of April whicH is EASTER SUNDAY.

Throughout the entire season and in all the promo they used religious imagery surrounding villanelle.

In the bible, Jesus is resurrected on Easter Sunday after dying for everyone’s sins

Easter Sunday is this Sunday so I have the theory that on Sunday we get an extra surprise ending where villanelle actually faked her death like they did in the books and villanelle and eve will go kill carolyn together. No I will not accept criticism.

Also in the bible Eve is tempted into sin through the Apple which we see a lot of imagery for in season 2. The link between eve being tempted into sin (villanelle, revenge) and villanelle “dying” for sins. Means that villanelle faked her death so her and eve can be free from Carolyn and the remnants of the 12

I also can’t help noticing the parallels between Adam touching the hand of god and eve reaching out for villanelle. The heavy handed religious imagery could be pointing to villanelle’s resurrection (aka fake death)

Extra: villanelle was shot in the shoulder like how eve hit Raymond in the shoulder. Getting hit in the shoulder doesn’t kill you. Now I know you’re all thinking that she got shot in other places too and you’re right but I don’t care. I refuse to believe that villanelle is dead. IT IS CANON that eve and villanelle have a cabin is Alaska and villanelle spends most of her time hiding mustard from eve. I’m right okay!

Someone needs to tell writers that shocking viewers isn’t always good. Just like bad endings aren’t poetic and well done and realistic if they’re just plain bad and negative. Real life can be good and happy too. And sometimes an unexpectedly happy finale is shocking and realistic in a good way. Plus people watch it more and it makes people want to rewatch the entirety of the show to experience it again. No one wants to realieve this kind of shock

What is going on with the world??

Jesus…

In a move that has sparked outcry from archaeologists, historians and locals, the Peruvian government has approved a multi-billion international airport near the famed site of Machu Picchu, Peru’s single most important tourist destination. Bulldozers have begun to clear millions of tons of earth for the project, which will be located in Chinchero, a picturesque Inca town.

Building the airport in this location will destroy an ancient landscape, one shaped by the Incan people with terraces and routes.

Critics also suggest that planes flying low over the nearby village of Ollantaytambo and its archaeological park filled with ruins and a massive Inca fortress with large stone terraces, would cause incalculable damage to fragile Inca ruins there and destroy the peace and beauty of the area.

The new airport will make access to the site much easier, and thus encourage greater numbers than ever before to visit.

But Machu Picchu is already overwhelmed by almost double the limit of tourists as recommended by UNESCO. [see also India’s Taj Mahal - an incredible site simply reeling under a relentless, ineffectively managed tourist, both domestic and international, onslaught]

It’s the constant battle between protecting the past and profiteering from it.

What the actual fuck

how about NO

PLEASE REBLOG!

hey! peruvian here

to be completely honest, there is probably nothing anyone can do about this at this point because it has been in the works since the 90’s. as you can most likely tell, our government is a fucking joke. still, this needs international attention. a lot of it. this is my country’s history, culture and one of the most beautiful things we have to offer at risk.

our best bet is at the very least causing somewhat global outrage to spread awareness and perhaps make this into something bigger amongst the middle and upper class people in the central cities as sadly the lower class and indigenous citizens (the majority of the country’s population) go widely ignored by the government and the former (middle and upper class) tend to also ignore shit unless they perceive it as affecting them directly

Ya know, I think it's safe to say we all kind of hate what the writers do with this show.

They had Toni as a great introduction and she barely gets any screen time now. With 6k in followers mostly due to Riverdale writings - let's try something. We know they see Tumblr stuff.

Try #givetonithescreen and see if we get some character devolpment for someone who definately deserves it.
