What's up? Welcome to my little haven in the actual burning fire pit that is modern Tumblr. Have a seat, have a nice day, love you!

I have OCD and with that comes quasi-hallucinations, and I grew up watching a ton of horror films so some of the worst of mine are the standard white skin/black hair demon girl type shit.

However, because a lot of them are based on horror film I have found comfort in doing things that “go against” horror films and being like “see? This could never happen.”

(It’s irrational. I know that. But shut up. This is how I cope.)

For example: I started hearing garbled whispering from beneath my table, so I started playing the muppets sound track. Because they would never play Movin’ Right Along when the protagonist is about to get attacked. That won’t happen. Disney, who owns the muppets, wouldn’t give them the rights.

And it fucking worked.

A potential game based on ONE’s other series that ISN’T One Punch Man

So I’ve been back in the ONE mood. If you don’t know who ONE is they’re the creator behind One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100, two personal favorite anime/manga of mine. And I’ve been on the mood for their work since I’ve been rewatching Mob Psycho with a friend and I’ve been playing the One Punch Man arena fighting game. So of course since I’m thinking of one while playing the other, I’ve been considering how interesting it’d be if we could get a game for the other ONE series.  So hypothetical Mob Psycho 100 game since we don’t have one. (if any of y’all bring up the fucking mobile game I’m gonna delete the internet forever) I personally have two ideas, one that’s the “easy” route and one that’s a much more “interesting” route. So I just kinda wanna dive right in so we’ll start with the “easy” route.  So let’s say they take the route of just taking the One Punch Man game and recycling it for a Mob Psycho 100 game, so they grab Spike Chunsoft and basically do the whole “you are your own custom character based on other characters/archetypes and you follow the main story of the original series but now you’re in the background of every single scene with the ACTUAL main characters” again (but hopefully improved since it’d be the second time they did it). So long story short you’d get to make your own psychic esper character and you’d have a small open world where you can run around, meet characters from the show, learn from them (mainly just getting copies of their abilities used in the show), befriend them, do side quests, fight enemies, so on and so forth. Basically imagine a mini rpg but instead of turn based battles you have 3D fighting game mechanics in small arenas (if you’ve never played an arena fighter, it’s just that. 3D combat in a small “arena”.). And the main story would be you just doing unimportant garbage until you get to pitch in to help out during the main actual important story that’s just directly lifted from the show. This is the easiest potential route but also it’s SOOOO BORING. Yeah it could be cute to run through what’s already a good ass story and making your own character but it doesn’t feel very interesting or unique. A generic leveling system that feels like it doesn’t have any real bearing on gameplay, a moveset that’s just you stealing from others so it doesn’t feel like your own, and since you’re just following someone else’s story it doesn’t feel that interesting since I’d rather just watch the show. So that’s the “easy”, let’s go with the “fun”. What I would love to see is them taking the One Punch Man game idea but expanding on it greatly! A large open world that encompasses the entirety of Seasoning City (or at least a decent chunk instead of the tiny neighborhood you get in the One Punch Man game), mechanics to help the player character seem their own (maybe instead of stealing moves from just the important characters from the anime, the devs could create tons of moves on their own that fit in lore and just give them out based on levels as well as progress in the story and what side content you’ve completed), and a completely original story (please get the original writers though). It’d have so much potential and would give way more player freedom to craft their own experiences instead of kind of having everything feel like a Disneyland guided tour through a thing you could just watch instead of play.  Either way, I would just want a Mob Psycho 100 game (and the fucking mobile game doesn’t count) and I personally enjoy the One Punch Man game so I wouldn’t be too mad about it basically being One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows 2.0 but there’s so much potential to an actual Mob Psycho 100 game with love and care put into it!

Non-violent game titles I recommend

So I was talking with some pals about games that are pretty violent and how we’d like to see games that focus on anything but violence so I thought I’d recommend them some but since I’d rather not flood the Discord chat with tons and tons of text why not make a small Tumblr post about it and just share the link? These are in no particular order or organizational system.

The Coin Game: I talk about this game allot, it’s a cozy little coin op arcade simulator! Just run around town, play arcade games, get tickets, buy prizes, rinse and repeat! Tabletop Simulator: This one is a bit cut and dry. It’s a simulator that allows you to play a few tabletop games, and with it’s massive modding community you can basically play anything you want with friends! Portal 1 and 2: Super renowned and fantastic first person puzzle experiences!  Lovers of Aether: A cute little dating sim based on the platform fighter “Rivals of Aether”. You find some of those characters cute but wish you could kiss them? Well here you go!

Demon Turf: A slick, stylish, and polished third person platformer that mixes super cute 2D art with top tier 3D platformer gameplay! A genuine must play! Anarchy Arcade: Less a game and more a piece of software you can grab for free on Steam that essentially allows you to set up your various games and applications as arcade machines in your own little customizable virtual arcade!  Floating Point: A really chill game that’s a bit hard to describe, basically you’re a small cube surrounded by larger cubes, clicking the mouse fires a grappling hook that you can then use to swing through those cubes, picking up lines representing points. It’s neat! What’s Your Gender?: This one is a bit interesting and I have a whole video I’m working on focused on this game but long story short, it’s an LGBTQ+ friendly digital museum focused on teaching about certain terms and concepts in the LGBTQ+ community.  Celerity: A fun (if a bit difficult) first person platformer focused on speed and time trial gameplay. Basically run, jump, wallrun, and grapple your way through really simple platforming environments.  VR Chat: Remember Little Big Planet? Well basically that but in 3D, first person, and way more anime waifus. Jokes aside there’s something for everyone in this game. Chill relaxing environments, fun minigames, places to meet up with friends or strangers, all kinds of stuff! And it’s playable with VR or on desktop! Such Art: Creative Space: Basically a free demo you can play infinitely of a super detailed and fun painting simulator. You take commissions from people to paint specific things and you have to deliver what they want. Or do whatever you want and send it to them, the game isn’t picky. Or screw commissions and paint whatever you want for fun! Or hell, paint the studio you’re in! It’s your creative space after all! That’s all I have for now since it’s already allot but this is JUST my steam library! There’s probably tons more games like this I own so I may make more posts about this in the future based on the other storefronts!

Change of plans! Stream on weekend maybe. UwU

Late birfday stream!

Day of birth!

Hey, later today you better watch out for a late-ish birthday stream where I just chill with some games I really dig! Hope you drop by! 💙

i still do not understand what possessed so many well-respected actors to do the spy kids movies like

did they pay really well? did you want these beautiful, terrible movies to be a blemish on your career forever?? why

antonio banderas did so many high-profile movies then in spy kids he looked like this

tony shalhoub has won multiple emmys but he did spy kids and

even fucking george clooney wtf

steve buscemi is pretty goofy but still

salma hayek’s pigtails in this wow

elijah wood was the lead in a movie that’s tied for the largest number of oscars of all time and he played a character creatively named “THE GUY”

sylvester stallone is like a cultural icon and he played not one but FOUR ridiculously dressed weirdos

alan cumming is the only one i can understand

Spy Kids is a national treasure

how dare you talk about spy kids as though it is not the most brilliant franchise ever created

They did Spy Kids cuz Spy Kids fuckin SLAPS. Bad post op

Real answer: because Robert Rodriguez’s experience working with Tarantino lead to him developing a way to make movies with essentially no budget AND made him a lot of friends in Hollywood, plus he was making these movies specifically for his kids and had such an infectious energy about it, he was a joy to work with and those big-name actors did it almost for free.

So, basically, they did it for fun. Is that it?

Yeah, and because it was very little work, the movies were shot in record time almost entirely on greenscreen.

Shakira Law

Do we start with:

1. The fact that this is clearly supposed to be the One Ring from Lord of the Rings

2. “Shakira Law”

3. The implication that children either know arabic or will become muslims by eating a donut.

4. “Free Islamic Donut”

5. or that starbucks is giving kids weird donuts for free and expects there to be no questions about the intricate writing.

One donut to fool them all

6. Starbucks doesn’t sell donuts
