GARY BURGHOFF as CORPORAL WALTER ‘RADAR’ O’REILLY in M*A*S*H (season 1)
“What are you doing, Corporal?” “Doing, sir?” “D-O-I-N-G! What are you doing?” “I’m listening to you spell ‘doing’, sir.”
happy pride month to the canon asexual platypus ever

an internal memo leaked from ceo steve huffman saying the "noise" of the blackout will die out and they just need to weather it until we give up. fuck you spez.
first of all it's OVER EIGHT THOUSAND subreddits that went dark.
second of all he clearly doesn't give one single shit about the users or the UNPAID army of mods who slog through a million miles of shit every day to keep illegal and offensive content off the site (i'm a mod in a small fandom subreddit and even the shit i've seen is beyond the pale) and therefore make it appealing to the advertizers.
you have no fucking business without us. and you don't care one single bit about it.
he clearly did not mean for this memo to leak, but someone at reddit thought it was important enough to send it out anyway. please spread it (spreddit?) especially because so much of reddit is still in blackout.
This feels very similar to the uproar they LITERALLY JUST HAD in the D&D community over changes that would have negatively impacted third party creators. People started canceling their subscriptions to the paid service and Wizards of the Coast really thought they could get away with it by issuing a weak apology and waiting it out.
The community got angrier, so WotC thought they could get away with it by backing down to a half measure.
The community got even ANGRIER.
WotC ended up backing down to such an extent that they not only canceled all of the planned changes but released their core material under a creative commons license to boot, putting them BEHIND their starting position.
This is what we should be aiming for. I've used reddit daily for like fifteen years, but sometimes the only thing you can do to save a community you love is to genuinely be willing to walk away until the corporate bigwigs in charge get it through their heads that they actually NEED users. I want to make this the year of companies fucking around and finding out that unhappy users can cause them problems. Starve the bastards out and make them realize they need us more.
“Y’see, the first time my Dad kissed my Mom was at a Love Handel concert, and it’s their anniversary -“
“B to the O-R-I-N-G.”
“Not yet Ferb.”
i love how he doesn’t say ”no, ferb.”
he says ”not yet.”
as in they were planning to bludgeon him with a mace
Ferb I know what were gonna do today
reminder that trans men also fought for your rights and refusal to acknowledge this is tantamount to denying historical fact
Pride Month 2023, Krel and Douxie 35# kissing their bruises and scars, please?
Pride 2023 - Kisses #31 gentle stroking of the cheeks - TOA Krel/Douxie
Pride history posts on here seem almost exclusively to revolve around Stonewall which can leave the impression that America is the only place where anything important ever happened and obviously is not true so I have compiled a few links where you can learn about LGBTQ history in other countries! Feel free to add
For a few years some blogs have been sharing queer history posts about our countries with the tag #uselesslgbtfacts on Tumblr. It was an idea proposed by @useless-switzerlandfacts if I remember right, but on the tag you can find posts from them, from @useless-sloveniafacts, @useless-malta-facts and from us in the Catalan Countries. If I'm not mistaken there used to be more posts from other countries but sadly with time they have deleted their blogs.
Please never stop posting about Phineas and Ferb. Your posts are everything ❤️
I mean as long as content for it exists I'll always share 😘
Remembering the time my old nb roommate who went to an LGBT law conference and was heaping the absolute biggest bitchfit texting me cause “some cis guy” was talking about trans people and trans men in particular and my roommate refused to listen to what this guy said cause “why should I listen to him” and I said “are you sure he’s cis?” And then towards the end of the presentation he said something that indicated to the crowd he was a trans man and then suddenly my roommate started to consider what had been shared.
Absolute loser behavior, but not completely unique. We’ve all gotta stop saying only x people can talk about x issues for us to listen. Too many people in the in group will have dogshit takes no one wants to challenge because “well, they are x identity.” Likewise, plenty of people on the out group actually know what they’re talking about and have something to contribute to the conversation.
Especially when it comes to sexuality and gender, you relying on someone outing themselves or you clocking them to decide whether their words have merit is shitty, because you won’t always know if they ARE the group “allowed” to talk about it. And even beyond that, I knew a fuckload about transness before I realized I was trans, it helped me REALIZE I was trans. “Listen to x voices” got sooooo warped in the discourse.
He looks like he's trying SO hard not to smile
Fic writers, put in the tags what the difference in hits is between your most and least viewed fics. Mine is 7,720 (7,779-59).
seeing people argue on twitter that we should not be nice to strangers and that strangers do not owe you respect or kindness and that if anyone asks you to be nicer ever they are entitled and a horrible person and being nice to people you don’t know is unpaid emotional labour and if you ask anyone to do it ever you are an abusive person. ha. hahahahahahahahahahaha
individualism is a disease.
genuinely the way capitalism has completely destroyed everyone’s view of community and comradeship is insane. we are all so isolated from our fellow humans beings. i hate this. get me out of here. hahahaha please get me out of here.
Pizza VS Flower with bee on it VS Bisexuality VS Wind turbine
For anyone who doesn't want to watch the video, he used a list of things from Wikidata, pared it down to about 8000 things that most people would have heard of, and made a website where people voted for the best option in randomly selected pairs of things.
Pizza was voted the 9th best thing, making it the best food. Bees weren't in the top 10 best things, but they won 77% of matchups to be selected as the best creature, followed by emperor penguins and hedgehogs. Bisexuality didn't place in the top 10 either, but it won 73% of matchups compared to heterosexuality winning only 45%. (Orgasms were the highest ranked sexual thing, and were miraculously ranked at number 69.) I think the windmill is supposed to stand for electricity, which was the second place winner. And the winner of "best thing" was sleep.
