Can the women out there who opt out of body hair removal reblog this? We can show people that we exist, and show others that they’re not alone.
okay. listen. youre all children apparently so im going to explain this to you like youre in first fucking grade.
trans people dont want you to fuck them. they arent forcing you to have sex with them, and they understand if you arent sexually attracted to them. what trans people are asking of you is to acknowledge them for who they are.
what this means is that if you find yourself interested in someone and they turn out to be transgender, you dont be an asshole because theyre transgender. instead of getting angry and using slurs and misgendering them, try saying “oh, sorry, im uncomfortable doing this now” and chances are they will be entirely respectful of your wishes. if they arent, then yell at them all you want, because thats fucked up. however, so long as you are respectful, they will be respectful back.
when trans people say “its bigoted to say a trans person cant be gay/lesbian” or when they say “its bigoted to say someone isnt gay/lesbian because theyre attracted to transgender people” they mean that its bigoted because, when that kind of thing is said, its implying that you dont believe they are that gender.
tl;dr: respect trans people and their gender. please. its not difficult. if you dont want to have sex/date a trans person, you dont have to say that aloud or be rude about it.
thank you and have a wonderful day.
You’re not forcing us to have sex with anyone but you are trying to change the definition of homosexuality and will call people who don’t play along bigots. Which is pretty fucking rude.
I have a question. Are biological sex and gender the same thing? Or different things?
it aint rude to call a bigot a bigot lmfao the general concept of being attracted to men or women does not and has never had anything to do with the physical form of their genitals, considering most normal people don’t actually see a person’s genitals before becoming attracted to that person and cis gay people are perfectly capable of enjoying genital shaped sex toys that don’t match their own while still not having a desire to be intimate with an actual person who doesn’t line up with their sexuality in terms of gender stop trying to reduce people to a walking set of genitals you freak
the general concept of being attracted to men or women does not and has never had anything to do with the physical form of their genitals
Gee, whatever have homosexuals been stigmatized and reviled for all these centuries?
considering most normal people don’t actually see a person’s genitals before becoming attracted to that person
Most normal people can also tell a female human from a male human at a glance. And most normal people understand that female and male reproductive organs are pretty different.
I know a lot of these kids weren't even alive then but one of the biggest talking points of conservative christians when I was in high school in the 90s was that homosexuality is unnatural because the sex they have can never produce children.
Really loved this piece.
“I’m talking about the girls who become obsessed with horses, or wolves, or witches, and who knew themselves to be wild creatures like those. They vanish outdoors, hiding in trees, sticking their hands in the dirt, making potions from mud and sticks. They escape into complex worlds of their own imagining, shared between other little girls or solitary kingdoms … There’s a bit of anger involved. A strange mix of anger and joy. It’s at this point perhaps that girls become aware of how little patience the world has for the unremittingly scrappy. But we are beyond the world, untouchable, unconquerable and unafraid.“
I remember being this age, and it’s about the age my niece HM is now. “Feral” is a word that my brother and SIL have used to describe her since she was a baby.
I was a mud stick and potion girl, always roaming the yard and gathering things and imagining I lived in a different time.
My hope is that my girl(s) will be able to enjoy a similar kind of freedom.
This was my childhood, even more amplified because my house was surrounded by forests, apple orchards, and alfalfa fields to roam and very little parental supervision.
I was a faerie princess who lived under a weeping willow and ate blackberries she found at the edge of the woods. When we moved, I became an explorer who climbed fences and drank from streams.
In the winter I was an ice queen with giant swords made of ice (huge icicles) and my sisters and I would battle. Racing through the woods as the snow fell on our faces. Once we made an snow fort and pretended that it was a castle and spent days building onto it before it melted
My favourite animal was wolves, and my friends and I would be wolf characters I’d read about in the Julie of the Wolves series. Or we’d play Sailor Moon and hunt for the rainbow crystals. Also, I have no memory of this but my best friend swears I used to be able to change my eye colour at will. For her part, she could see and talk to ghosts.
Beyond the park was the train tracks and on either side of them was a lot of wild growth. I would eat wild raspberries, pick wildflowers, and catch snakes. Often I would just walk or sit and think, though. Sometimes I would walk just to see how far I could get. I was usually alone, but sometimes friends would come with me. We found a kitten stuck in a tree once, so we got her down and went door to door back in our neighbourhood till we found someone who would take her.
During frequent trips between my mother’s and my nana’s city, my nana would occasionally stop at her boyfriend’s farm. It was there I climbed nearly to the top of a pine tree that was as tall as a three story building.
I grew up on a 40 acre farm and would leave first thing in the morning and my family wouldnt see me again until supper. I had a mini 4 wheeler and I was a feral child exploring every inch of my own private world. I would give anything to get that wild nature back.
Lobotomies: Gender Oppression
Lobotomy (Greek: λοβός lobos “lobe (of brain)”; τομή tomē “cut, slice”) is a neurosurgical procedure, a form of psychosurgery, also known as a leukotomy or leucotomy (from the Greek λευκός leukos “clear, white” and tomē). It consists of cutting or scraping away most of the connections to and from the prefrontal cortex, the anterior part of the frontal lobes of the brain.
Lobotomies were performed in some Western countries for nearly two decades as a mainstream procedure.
Some patients were noted to have experienced symptomatic improvement with the operation, but this often came at a cost, creating other impairments.
The use of the procedure increased dramatically from the early 1940s and into the 1950s; by 1951, almost 20,000 lobotomies had been performed in the United States alone (Wikipedia)
The majority of lobotomies were performed on women.
A 1951 study of American hospitals found nearly 60% of lobotomy patients were women (another source claims 84%).
Data shows 74% of lobotomies in Ontario from 1948–1952 were performed on women.
“…but she made no complaints.”
The purpose of the operation was to reduce the symptoms of mental disorder, and it was recognized that this was accomplished at the expense of a person’s personality and intellect. British psychiatrist Maurice Partridge, who conducted a follow-up study of 300 patients, said that the treatment achieved its effects by “reducing the complexity of psychic life”. Following the operation, spontaneity, responsiveness, self-awareness and self-control were reduced. Activity was replaced by inertia, and people were left emotionally blunted and restricted in their intellectual range (Wikipedia).
The idea behind lobotomy was different. The Portuguese neurologist, Egas Moniz, believed that patients with obsessive behaviour were suffering from fixed circuits in the brain.
In 1935, in a Lisbon hospital, he believed he had found a solution. “I decided to sever the connecting fibres of the neurons in activity,” he wrote in a monograph titled How I Came to Perform Frontal Leucotomy.
[…]
Moniz reported dramatic improvements for his first 20 patients. The operation was seized on with enthusiasm by the American neurologist Walter Freeman who became an evangelist for the procedure, performing the first lobotomy in the US in 1936, then spreading it across the globe (BBC).
In 1939, Moniz was shot multiple times by a schizophrenic patient and subsequently confined to a wheelchair. He continued in private practice until 1955. Moniz died from an internal hemorrhage on December 13, 1955. The last lobotomy performed was a trans-orbital lobotomy in 1967.
I never knew this until that comment on a post recently. Mostly women… We have to keep fighting! We can’t go back and we can’t forget all the women still living like this. This was in my mother’s time.
I also want to add the likely reason Rosemary Kennedy was lobotomized in the first place was a result of how she was born. When her mother was in labor there was no doctor present, but a nurse was. Of course, the (male) doctor NEEDED to be there when the baby was born for some irrelevant bullshit reason, so the nurse instructed Rosemary’s mother to keep her legs shut until the doctor arrived. When that proved just a bit difficult, the nurse physically held Rosemary in the birth canal for two hours.
Yeah, that did not have a pleasant effect on baby Rosemary.
(Spoiler alert: this dude is indeed a massive festering asshole.)
“Throwaway because I’m sure some people will find this controversial and I don’t want it tied to my main.
When my wife and I got married we agreed that we would have 2 kids unless both were girls, then we’d have a 3rd to try for a boy. I’m a guy’s guy and I grew up with only brothers so I feel strongly that I want a son to bond with.
That’s not to say that I don’t love my daughter equally. I just want to raise someone to follow in my footsteps with sports and girls and stuff. After some convincing, my wife agreed to this but said that if the 3rd kid was a girl, we’d stop trying. Anyway, we ended up having one boy (8 years old) and one girl (5 years old). This background is important because you need to know that having a 3rd kid was something that was on the table.
My wife doesn’t think that this is a good reason to have a 3rd kid. She said that she would be open to having a 3rd kid but that she finds my reasoning disgusting and she doesn’t think she can go through with it knowing the reason for me wanting one. I don’t think she understands how special it is for a father to have a son who can follow in his footsteps.
Am I the asshole or is she overreacting?”
Any science ladies out there feel like developing a virus that can cause a man’s junk to shrivel away the instant he starts feeling entitled to dictate women’s reproductive labor, the sex of his children, or the sexuality of his children? PM me, I have ideas.
Imagine putting your wife through all that—life, body, health, spirit, energy—just to roll the dice and see if you get a boy this time. I feel sorry not only for his wife but for his daughter.
Edit: Also, I don’t get what his problem is.
When my wife and I got married we agreed that we would have 2 kids unless both were girls, then we’d have a 3rd to try for a boy.
So they had one of each. What is he saying he wants a third for?
Men who feel entitled to children please die
Men in general go die anyways it saddens me that this is the reality of many women, married to a misogynistic pig and it’s even more unfortunate when you think about how a divorce is very unlikely and if it’s to happen it happens usually after having had a couple kids and few years of miserable marriage. Think about it, how many women are married to men they consider intellectually disgusting? Too many.
Ladies do yourself a favor and just don’t marry males.
An important paragraph has been left out of this where he says the boy has just come out as gay so now he wants to try for a straight son. I had to look it up because the op confused me since he's had a boy already.
there’s a sleep “disorder” that is literally just “your circadian rhythm is inconvenient for school/work” and people with it have to take meds to make themselves sleepy earlier/later
otherwise there’s absolutely nothing wrong with their quality/amount of sleep they just don’t have a schedule that works for society
shout out to second shifters - i traded prime time for good sleep
It’s even got disorder in the name: delayed sleep phase disorder. And yes, if you have to have a “normal” schedule, it makes your life hell.
Oh, and it can run in families. Thanks Dad. 🙄
So many disabilities are disabling not because they’re inherently impairing, but because society just doesn’t make room for us
I used to think I had this but now… Is there a name for the sleep disorder where your body seems to have no circadian rhythm? Because my body only seems to account for when I woke up/went to sleep (in deciding when I need to wake up or go to sleep) without any regard for the time of day.
I’ve got Non 24 Hour Sleep Wake Disorder, where the time I fall awake creeps back a little further every night until every few weeks I don’t fall asleep until dawn, and there’s also Irregular Sleep-Wake Rhythm.
Wait is THAT WHAT’S WRONG WITH ME!?
A BITCH JUST THOUGHT THEY WERE FUCKED
MY BODY JUST CHOOSES NOT TO FUNCTION TO SOCIETY’S TIME TABLE!?
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
yeah they don’t know why it happens in non-blind people
I also have the 24 hour sleep wake disorder and every few weeks I just have to stay awake for 24 hours to reset.
What are some good reading materials about the goddess and female power? I'm curious to know more

haters will look at white male serial killers who grotesquely butchered innocent ppl for sexual pleasure and then… aileen wuornos who shot men seeking out the service of a prostitute (upstanding wonderful citizens OBViously) and be like “I see no difference”
While I loved watching Lily whatshername portray her in American horror story, I hated that she was written like all the men and she danced with remirez, a rapist, like it was nothing.
proposals for what to do other than going to twitter (because they hate women) if tumblr is bought out by p*rnhub:
- we kick it old school and go back to sites that are seldom used in this day and age such as myspace or dreamwidth
- we make our text posts into pictures so we can post and share them on pinterest
- we arrange a complex network of homing pigeons to stay in touch
- we just start screaming outside our windows in hopes of finding like-minded women
we should have some kind of homebase online thats not tumblr. maybe a forum?
i honestly recommend pinterest. it’s fun, stress free, and we can trade recipes and pretty pictures. plus, the amount of violent sex images is very low. it’s peaceful.
How would pinterest work. I thought it was all posterboards
you make boards that represent who you are/how you feel/whatever and fill it up with images that fit the general theme. but you can also comment on posts and follow other people’s pinterest boards.
Pin a recipe and in the comments talk about how to smash the patriarchy!
There’s no proof of biological brain sex. There is however proof that socialization can affect brains. And if brains aren’t sexed that means there are no male and female differences? WHAT?
Mind providing it? I can’t find any recent studies saying brains are sexed. All the newest ones are showing the opposite.
The very fact that they are not sure what they mean is important. Even if they look different under an ultrasound of an ultrasound, it doesn’t prove any neurological differences between males and females.
This is besides the point but I always find it amusing where there are religious people in science 😂 conditional beliefs indeed.
No you proved there are different appearances in brains in one of your studies. The others are in adults who have already been affected by male and female socialization. I did provide you with a source but here’s more. By the way, most studies on male and female brains that show any difference include a very small sample size. One study here contained 6000 participants- and the study that was being debunked had 50.
I actually refuted your baby one by pointing out there was no proof of any neurological differences only appearance, that other study was done on adults who experienced male and female socialization. And don’t even with “bias” when you literally linked a source with someone saying God made men and women different, not to mention you haven’t been able to refute any of the information. Coming from a source you don’t like doesn’t equal biased. Here’s some more.
OP used a Catholic website as a “source”. I feel like this is more telling than OP intended.
I literally burst out laughing when I saw it was from a Catholic website. Like, of course they would say women and men have different brains!
We're not even allowed to suggest sex as a variable in my senior seminar in cognitive psych because my professor said there is overwhelming evidence that men and women do not think differently.
US things that I only know from the internet/tv and that i won’t believe until i’ve seen them with my own two eyes:
- girl scouts selling cookies
- garbage disposals
- regular school assemblies
- PSAs
- coupons
can’t believe i forgot
- cheerleaders
- serious school sports teams
- spirit week (still not convinced this isn’t a myth)
I can’t believe, in an industry ripe with falsehoods, you managed to list everything that actually exists
….garbage disposals?
Yeah, apparently they don’t have them in other countries! I just learned this recently via tumblr.
I’m Australian and we have always had assembly every week. I also use coupons from the back of shop docket/receipts.
I'm American and my school had Spirit week every year. The basketball players and cheerleaders wore their uniforms to school. Everyone was encouraged to wear the school colors, paint your face, etc. It ended with a big cheer rally at the end of the week.
just keeping this as a receipt, notice how they said corrective rape : something that is specifically done to lesbians but sure let’s all pretend that terf doesn’t mean lesbian.
I’m guessing the only “violence” here is rejection too. Yet another piece of evidence that terf = lesbian
@keebos-metallic-nutsacc you are the ultimate waste of life and don’t deserve the waste of space you occupy
post the unedited screenshot, coward.
Whatever it is, it can’t possibly justify that comment, coward
Find me an instance of radfems being violent to trans people. There are no violent radfems, and terf is a nonexistent boogeyman. You’re advocating for Lesbians to be raped for their opinions. You’re a homophobic sadist.
Men think that women rejecting them IS violence, though.
You know you and your politics/ideology are garbage when you can state in all seriousness that rape is okay for women you don’t like
If you say a person doing a bad thing should be raped then you are a rape apologist, end off. You are in favour of men raping women for whatever reason you deemed acceptable. You are a rape apologist. You think sexually violating women is a valid form of punishment. You think some men should be allowed to rape women. The word “corrective” rape here means you want lesbians to be raped by men so that they end up submitting to them. You are a rape apologist, a dangerous misogynist, a reactionnary homophobe.
Rape culture in action
I don't wish rape on my rapist. This person is psychotic!

famous works with titles that are unabashedly stupid but we dont notice because they’re so ingrained in pop culture
star wars
Teen wolf
ok so teen wolf is my favorite example anyone’s given so far because the title itself comes from the 1985 comedy film which definitely has the look and tone of something that would be called ‘teen wolf’… when they adapted it into an edgy teen drama they just kept the name and its really bad. its such a bad title for serious show. i respect it so much.
there’s no punchline here i just think its really funny. i wish riverdale was called The Archie Show.
It's the Buffy effect :)

Diametrically Opposed – Having a chaotic evil character in a heroic party
We have a great Question from a Denizen this week, Gentle Readers. Maturon asks, “Maturon - Hi, I was wondering what are some ways to deal with having a player make an openly chaotic evil character in a campaign where the other player characters are primarily heroic. Is there a way to have the character in the story that won’t result in the other player characters babysitting them to make sure they don’t do anything evil, or making them play against character since they wouldn’t work with someone evil? Thanks”
This is a super-thorny issue, Maturon, and I will give you the best advice I can.
In the interest of being completely honest, I’m going to lay this out upfront – I don’t allow evil characters in my games. When I sit down to play D&D, I want to play a story of heroes doing amazing deeds, and possibly saving the world. It’s hard to imagine a chaotic evil character, if played well, joining up for an adventure for any reason other than personal gain. In a campaign that’s less story driven and more about finding dungeons and plundering them, chaotic evil is a 100% valid choice, but it rarely goes well in my experience, and it doesn’t mesh with the kind of campaigns I like to run.
This, by the way, is the exact kind of thing to lay out in a Session Zero. If you don’t want evil characters, say so right upfront. If you want to allow them, let the players know this instead, but make sure everyone’s okay with having an evil character in the party. If someone gets betrayed by a fellow player down the road, and they thought everyone in the party was good or neutral, this could lead to a lot of hurt feelings.
So, we’re going to move forward assuming you’re okay with an evil character in the party. I would sit down with that player and have a long chat. Find out what their motivation is in playing an evil character. Are they intending to betray the party? Are they just wanting to play someone who’s only out for themselves? Make sure they know that, if the party decides to oust them when their true colors show, you’re not going to pull DM fiat to keep them in the group…which hopefully you don’t intend to.
As an example of how to make this work, look at Out of the Abyss. This is a great example of a campaign where a number of characters, including evil NPCs, have to work together or remain as slaves in the Abyss. This might be a good model to look at, in order to give the evil PC a reason to work with the others. After all, someone who’s evil can still potentially make friends, and it might be interesting if your evil character has to wrestle with their own morality down the road if they have to decide between their own interests and those of people they’ve come to like.
You mention “babysitting” in your original question, as well as making people play against character if they wouldn’t want to hang with evil folks. Things like this are one of the main reasons I don’t allow evil characters. It defies logic to say that someone is going to remain in an adventuring party with someone they don’t feel they can trust with their lives. If someone is playing a cleric of a good god, it’s hard to imagine them willingly staying around an assassin for hire, or some other evil type. In this case, it may come down to a “it’s him or me” choice for the party. Again, we’re back to potential hurt feelings. And why would an evil party member stay around a group of people who’re constantly policing his or her actions? They would want to get off on their own where they can do what they want, especially a chaotic character who values freedom so highly.
I would make the player of the evil character really think about how they were going to act around the other party members and why they’d want to stay with these do-gooders. It shouldn’t be your job to make the players decide to accept each other. Unless they can find a way to get along, it might be that the player who wants to be evil should hold out until you decide to run an evil campaign and play the character there instead.
I hope this helps, Maturon. Just trying to be honest. There’s a reason why a lot of DMs don’t allow for evil characters; they can really disrupt a game. But for a mature group of players and someone who intends to be subtly evil, it can be doable and might even be a rewarding experience.
As a side note to finish on, I have played one evil character in a non-evil campaign. Raven was a cleric of a death goddess and was lawful evil. His temple had volunteered him to the service of a king who was employing the other PCs, so he had every reason not to betray them. He was callous about NPCs that were friends of the other PCs (“I don’t know this person, and this has nothing to do with the king’s mission. I’m not sticking my neck out for them.”) He was utterly ruthless in battle, often taking glee in the deaths of enemies. But he had sworn to aid the others, and he would’ve died to protect them, just as he would’ve given his life to see the mission through. Evil, yes, but not likely to betray the rest of the party.
In my recent campaign we were allowed any alignment but we were also possessed by fairies who made sure we each protect the group and each member in it. So far it's working well if a bit chaotic lol.
some of you have never been chased by a merciless farm animal as a child and it shows :/
Haha I grew up on a farm and this was my childhood. Roosters and peacocks mostly but pigs every now and then. Once a bull which was terrifying!
The cultural expectation for straight couples to have penis-in-vagina sex is so heavily influenced by the patriarchy when you think about it. I mean, 75% of women don’t even orgasm from PIV but men literally do not care because it’s what feels best for them. For something so risky (unplanned pregnancy, STI’s, pelvic pain, UTI’s, etc) it’s practiced really often.
I mean the things women really enjoy in bed like oral, digital sex and clitoral stimulation have been reduced to “foreplay” to get a woman “prepared” (ie: aroused enough to actually be able to have a penis inside of her without strong pain).
A woman’s orgasm before sex is often used as a tool to help men get off.
PIV is so inextricably tied to the patriarchal conception of sex that when you suggest to (even radical) het women that they can choose to abstain from PIV sex (as it’s dangerous, often painful and just plain unpleasurable), they think you’re suggesting that they should be celibate. PIV is not the only, or even the primary, form of sex.

I'm a bisexual woman married to a man and we dont have piv sex. It's totally doable and satisfying for both partners.
