[So, I’ve had a headcanon of Belle becoming a bit of a writer and I know I made a post about jut some minths ago, but I’d like to state that after Beauty, I am definitely keeping this headcanon! Not that I was ever going to take it away or anything. Just…with all the traveling they did, I’m sure Belle wrote all about them! She probably has a journal and writes about all her travels; the places she, Gideon and Rumple visited, the people they met, the creatures they encountered etc, and as Gideon got older, she let him read everything she wrote since he was too young to remember some of it!

And of course, she lets Rumple read them too! And I can even see him reminding her of things so she adds things here and there with his help! Maybe they even have a journal they write in TOGETHER. They have their book for pictures, and though I’m sure they write little notes in it too, I can see them having a separate journal for writing in. And…after she passes, he reads it almost every day.

Aside from this, I’d like to say that perhaps she is writing her own fictional story! Based on her life or her travels because come on, Belle would be a fantastic fantasy storyteller! ❤️]

I love re-reading old interviews:

“It’s beautiful and slow the way they begin to like each other,” de Ravin previewed to me over the phone. “She’s really scared at first… he’s bemused by her demeanor… and they eventually form an intimate relationship where she can see what others don’t.”
As if often the case when Once Upon a Time tackles a classic fairy tale, viewers shouldn’t expect this one to remain true to the animation, de Ravin says, though some basic facts are similar.
And one fact that cannot be denied: Robert Carlyle is incredible in the role of Rumpelstiltskin.
“He’s amazing,” the actress says. “He gives the character so much power, but in this episode his walls tumble down. It’s scary for him. And he plays that so beautifully.”

Rumbelle Fanon

What do we consider to be popular and widespread Rumbelle fanon or headcanons in our fandom/fanfiction?

A few I remember:

  • The pendant Belle wears in a lot of her ftl scenes belonged to her mother or was given to her by her mother.
  • Rumple’s Scale Coat is made of Dragon hide.
  • Belle is from the Southlands or Marchlands.
  • Rumple loves going down on Belle.
  • Rumple cried during or after their first time.
  • Belle is kinky af.

  • Belle was absolutely the sexual pursuer in the Dark Castle (kelyon).

belle’s vital wife duties:

  • fixing adam’s cravats
  • doing his cufflinks
  • calming him when he’s grumpy
  • massaging his head when he naps beside her
  • booping his nose
  • holding his hand
  • laughing at his jokes even when they’re bad
  • kissing him so passionately he’s left dizzy afterward
  • arguing with him about every point he makes just to watch him go insane
  • kissing his cheek and getting all up in his space specifically when he’s reading/trying to focus on something. this includes climbing On His Lap
  • telling him he’s beautiful at least once a day. extra if he looks in the mirror and doubts himself
  • booping his nose again after he tells her to stop touching his nose
  • hugging him when he can’t find the words
  • listening to him when he can find them
  • dancing every dance with him til the end of time

adam’s vital husband duties:

  • listening to every story and idea belle says
  • keeping a hand on her waist whenever they’re standing beside each other
  • being woken at 3am because she just had the craziest dream and it can’t wait til morning
  • holding her hand
  • kissing her forehead
  • kissing her hand, and cheek, and nose
  • trying every food she makes experimentally in the kitchen
  • holding her close when they sleep
  • kissing her so longingly that her head’s still spinning long afterwards
  • twirling her around every chance he gets
  • always making sure there’s a replenished jar of ink on her nightstand because sometimes she wakes up with ideas and she needs to write them down immediately
  • trying to remember everything he learned in astronomy so he can tell her about the stars she loves so much (definitely brushing up on every book about stars in the library)
  • arguing with her about everything because he loves to see the fire in her eyes
  • kissing her intensely after they argue
  • dancing every dance with her til the end of time

Have you really read every one of these books? Not all of them. Some of them are in Greek! Was that a joke? Are you making jokes now? Maybe.

My favourite change in 2017 version is making so much of their relationship about their shared love of books. It’s not just the Beast giving Belle library - they actually bond over something which is so important to them both and which they didn’t really have an occasion to share with anyone else before.

  • adam’s arm around belle, belle leaning against him as they sit in front of the fire
  • belle subconsciously resting her hand on his leg when they’re reading
  • adam gently tipping belle’s chin up with his hand and leaning down to kiss her
  • belle stretching her arms around his neck and getting on her tip-toes to kiss him
  • adam needing alone time and belle kisses his head and begins to leave and adam feels terrible and tells her he loves her so she knows he doesn’t really want her to leave he just,, he just,,, and she turns around and tells him she loves him too
  • belle reaching for and holding adam’s hand at her first royal ball cuz she’s so terribly nervous
  • when they’re first courting and sneaking around the castle at night like teenagers and they are almost seen by cogsworth but they recoil around a corner and belle’s back is against the wall and adam’s right in front of her and they’re laughing and then they both get real quiet and are just looking at each other and adam leans in and kisses her
  • adam tucking strands of her hair behind her ear. belle leaning into his touch
  • when adam gets down, belle cupping his face with her hands and pulling him close and touching their foreheads together
  • going outside at night and laying on the grass and belle pointing out all the stars
  • adam holding belle so close when they’re falling asleep
  • belle laughing at all of adam’s stupid jokes
  • one looking fondly at the other when they’re not looking
  • adam BEAMING with pride when belle has her first official meeting with some nobles all on her own as the queen and she goes to adam after and he’s like “how was it!!!” and she goes “terrifyingly nerve wracking but i survived” and he’s just like “i bet you did GREAT”
  • adam just silently coming into the room and wrapping his arms around belle and hugging her after an extremely long and tiresome day
  • them walking together and belle casually taking adam’s arm, and adam bending his elbow out for her all in one motion
  • belle sitting on his lap and wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him

  • belle definitely has like a stack of eight books, minimum. and adam’s like “we literally... have multiple book shelves In This Room” and she’s like yeah but what if i want to read one of these before bed? you think i’m just gonna??? GET UP???
  • oh she DEFINITELY has a little portrait of her mother. and her papa too!!! there’s no one of them together (but in modern au she definitely has an old photograph of them together!!!!) but she sits them side by side
  • lots of little things. a few pairs of earrings she really likes and therefore wears all day and forgets to take them out until right before bed. a brush. ribbons. buttons? a magnifying glass. a pencil and notepad of sorts, for late night ideas. a candle of course, for #light
  • adam’s nightstand is far more minimalist. he has a candle too, one MAYBE two books. (belle, mockingly: We HaVe A bOoK sHeLf)
  • he had a little portrait of his mother but it had been in the drawer for a long time. too ashamed. but when he sees belle set up her parents he’s like... huh. and he brings it out and dusts it off and sets it up real nice and belle smiles at him
  • he has a little dish for cufflinks cuz i think that’s a thing right i don’t know it also has buttons and rings and somehow one of belle’s earrings ended up in there
  • later later on when they’re parents, one of the kiddos left their little stuffed bunny on his nightstand and in all the chaos of life everyone forgot about it. and it wasn’t until like a week later that adam noticed, and it took their kiddo even longer and by then they didn’t even care they just left it there so it became adam’s little stuffed bunny and it remains on his nightstand for all time

this is a really good question ur right!!!!!!!!

  • so YEAH absolutely they were walking over that bridge in the courtyard and belle saw a leaf floating down and she was like hey we should race sticks! and adam was like excuse me
  • so she ran and got two sticks and handed one to him and explained and it was so cute cuz even as adam did it and they went to the other side and watched he was still like. not understanding what’s so exciting here
  • and then belle’s came out first and she was like YES! I WIN! and she got all pumped up and adam smiled at her and suddenly he understood
  • this ones not imaginative AND i’ve talked about it before BUT cooking! baking! belle was so blown away by the size of the castle kitchen she was in there for daysss
  • and eventually adam came in like bro what are you— oh my gosh what a disaster why is flour everywhere how did you get an egg on the ceiling
  • and belle’s like don’t worry about it!!! come here!!!!!!!! and she begins showing him recipes and he’s really not good at it but she likes him being her helpful sous chef and he likes being needed so he stays 
  • so one time adam walks into their bedroom and he sees the sofa on its side and a huge sheet draped across to these two chairs and he’s like ???? HAVE WE BEEN ROBBED??????
  • and belle pops out like no!! come look!!
  • and he crawls into this pillow fort and she’s just sitting there like remember when i was telling you about forts well congrats you’re in one
  • and adam sits there and looks around and he’s like oh this is really cool let’s make it bigger
  • they are not seen or heard from for the rest of the day
  • another one is just like? laying on the floor?
  • one time adam walks in and belle’s just laying there and he’s like uh hello are you okay and she’s like yeah i’m just laying here and he’s like ? why? and she’s like “new perspective! join me”
  • and he confusingly takes off his coat and lays down next to her and they stare up at the ceiling for a while
  • just introducing the general concept of “chilling” to him. did prince adam have chill before he met belle? of course not
  • he also discovers stuff constantly when they become parents cuz belle’s like this very imaginative and kinda whimsical mother and adam’s like,,, whoa
  • continuing on that, when they’re up in the middle of the night because their little babbie was being fussy, belle tells him all about all these games maurice would make up for her when she was little. like imaginary sword fights or pretending to be fairies. and just like. peek-a-boo??? the most wholesome things my guy

  • unexpectedly bumping into each other when they’re both busily doing things around the castle and being like “oh hey!!” and talking in the corridor for a moment before carrying on
  • belle holding their baby daughter on her hip but suddenly oh!! getting an idea for an invention!! gotta write it down!! gotta run!! and she rushes the babe over into adam’s arms and he’s all flustered and takes her and just stands there holding their daughter as belle rushes off
  • adam walking into their room, knowing belle went there, and not seeing anyone and saying “...belle?” and he hears her reply “yeah?” and he looks around like ????? “where are you?” and she appears from inside a closet or behind a shelf or under the bed and she was tinkering with something she’ll be like “i’m over here sorry it was wobbly” and he’s just like ...ok
  • (belle) “alright, well. i’m going for a bath.” adam’s sitting on the bed with a book. “alright, my dear.” belle gets to the door and then she turns and she’s like, “actually, i was hoping perhaps you’d... join me?” and adam perks up and closes the book and says “Oh! Alright My Dear!”
  • belle being awake and getting ready for the day and adam just sleepily waking up and she comes to the bed and sits on it and cups his face and kisses his forehead cuz he’s just the cutest grumpy sleepyhead in the whole world!
  • belle visiting adam in his study!!!! adam visiting belle in the workshop!!!! cute little breaks and belle asking questions about the work he’s doing and adam asking her to explain what invention she’s working on and both of them just being like wow my spouse is so smart and amazing
  • they’re standing around with the whole gang just talking i don’t know wasting time and adam says something and belle compliments it and then adam compliments HER and it keeps going back and forth and they are drawing closer to each other and like heart eyes and on the verge of kissing and then cogsworth is like “okay hello we’re all still standing here thanks”
