Member perks

Members have certain perks, like having their writing prioritized for reblogs. Members also get their own WIP channel on our discord server, as well as a WIP intro on our blog. They also get a member profile on our staff page and their own member tag to filter their writing. Thanks to some helpful writing bots, you can keep track of your WIPs, organize writing sprints, and become inspired to write. If any of that sounds appealing to you, put in an application to become a member!

Member tasks

As a member, you will be invited to our Discord server to help us set up events and writing challenges, as well as create prompts to inspire other writers. You should be active in our writing family and help our writing community grow. Also you are expected to post your writing semi-regularly and showcase it on our blog.

We are not a big community of thousand writers, we are rather a writing family in which each member is a valued individually. I'm canadian and I can't really pinpoint an accent I have LOL

Northwestern (American) accent with the tiniest hint of Southern with specific words or when I get really worked up. Gotta love growing up in entirely different areas of the country.

The Hague Dialect (het Haagse dialect) for Dutch, Niederrheinisch for German and a hint of mixture of German and Dutch accents as well as Cockney and Brummie accent due to spending every summer and sometimes fall in the region there as well as Estuary English according to my friends from the UK and my former school teachers as well as my uni teachers and the guy from Cambridge certificate.

If I woke up in the world of your WIP tomorrow, what is one unmissable thing that I'd have to see/experience/try and what is another that I should avoid at all costs? These things can be food and drink, sights, culture, festivals, anything!! You can put it in the comments or reblogs of this post, anything goes! I'll start ♥️

If you were to wake up in Oepus, you would have to experience the subterranean amethyst hot springs on the mystical isle of Luna Sang. The springs are said to have healing properties and the amethyst that grows on the ceilings of the cave is said to be as old as Oepus itself! They glow a gentle purple light making the springs appear dreamlike.

There are many things to avoid in Oepus, however, if you get ANY sort of invitation from an elf (dinner party, wedding, anniversary celebration, ANYTHING), run. That's code for that elf wanting to lure you into their forests with murderous intent. Even if you manage to survive the living forest's onslaught, you won't survive the attacking elves that follow.

If you were to wake in one of the realms in Ballad of Empires you'd need strong nerves in Elyrien since a usurper rules it and civil war rages upon the landa as well as fhe neighboring states.

In Elyrien you should visit the Caer Trajon festival, it's their summer fall festival.

You should avoid Skerians, beings with sharp fangs and bewitched with magic, formed to serve the dark will of the usurper.

In Calvaera you should visit the lakelands for they are known across all realms and the sea beyond for their beauty as well as the Dragon's lair, a relict of the first emperor of Calvaera.

You should avoid the Ánsshang mountain region after dark for then trolls shall roam the lands.

For the Elven realm you should visit the Roísc Springs which are claimed to provide health and calm.

For the dwarf realm never ever start a drinking battle with a dwarf if you would like to wake at dawn again.

Yet you should go and see their capital for its shrouded in gold, silver and the riches of earth.

For the tribes of the Roiniscen desert you should come on the eight day in the sixth month for then you can see the “birth of the sun” an event where they celebrate the sun goddess and you can see the sun painting the sky golden at dusk.

I am very tempted to do something that I might regret. Submitting a short story to the writing competition of Thalia, one of the largest booksellers in the German-speaking world. What more can happen than failure?
