PEP NO!

@pep-no / pep-no.tumblr.com

Mostly Star Wars: Headcanons, fics, arts, and others. Including crack ones. NOT an RP blog. Main blog: @pepoluan

Okay, but at some point there HAD to have been a conversation where Hera off-handedly mentioned her friend Omega and her crazy older brothers… what did they call themselves again??? The Bad Batch???? And Kanan was like HOLD ON A MINUTE

Hm? What's the story?

@pep-no Have you watched/are you watching The Bad Batch? I can explain but I don't want to spoil anything for you that you don't want to know beforehand.

Oh, you don't have to worry about that.

I love being spoilt.

I am one of those weirdos who gets anxious if I don't know of spoilers beforehand 😊

Okay, as long as you're sure. Also, warning, this is going to be pretty long so I'm putting it under the cut.

Hmm... sounds intricate.

Does it conflict with the Star Wars: Kanan comic series or A New Dawn novel?

It does conflict with the Kanan comic series and while it's realistically probably not that bit of a deal, it drives me insane.

Then again, the flashbacks in the Kanan comic was Kanan's recollection of his past, so we can attribute the Kanan comic as from the POV of an "unreliable narrator".

Those takes about the Jedi Order requiring you to “forgo your heritage” never made actual sense; we ARE introduced to Jedi characters who do things according to their people’s cultural tradition to the point of dressing or tattooing themselves accordingly. Sometimes a combination of both. Being a Jedi doesn’t actually mean forgo those connections.

You literally see a whole-ass government that actually suppresses the very things they attempt to blame the Jedi for & see it in how they dress. The Empire actively stomped out cultural traditions & had people ESPECIALLY in their military to conform to certain dressing standards deliberately.

And don't forget about Ki-Adi Mundi that kept being allowed to bang her Cerean wives.

(Legends stuff I know)

Hera and Kanan only made it two and a half months after he joined her on the Ghost as ‘crew’ before they slept together. Hera claimed it was an accident and that it wouldn’t happen again.

They ‘accidentally’ slept together ten more times before she finally gave up trying to deny her attraction for him and decided that they needed rules instead.

Kanan followed every rule without question or argument for the rest of his life.

May the Force be with You

“Go ahead, pick him up.”

Cham just stood there, looking at his daughter.

“Pick him up, father. He won’t fall apart. He is, after all, your grandson.”

His stoicism wavered as he looked at his daughter’s gentle smile. Offering her a small smile back, he bent down and gently picked up the baby from Hera’s arms.

Jacen made a noise as if chuckling, and Cham’s heart melted.

“See? He knows you’re his granpa. I bet he’s already looking forward to being spoilt by you…”

Cham couldn’t help grinning as he started to tickle the baby.

“I… I couldn’t…”

Hera gently laid a hand on Cham’s arm. “Take your time, father. Bond with him. He’s … the only bond we have with …”

Cham can hear his daughter’s voice breaking up. “I promise. May I borrow him awhile?”

Hera smirked. “Sure, just don’t kidnap him to make him one of your freedom fighters.”

Had the setting been different, Cham would’ve been irritated at the insinuated meaning behind Hera’s words. But, glancing at his daughter, he did not see any malice, just a friendly, happy, content grin.

Cham nodded and walked out to the balcony, little baby Jacen secure in his arms. Outside, he stopped by the railing, and tickle the baby for a bit, making the baby emit some happy blubbing noise. Probably baby’s first laugh, a music to the older Twi’lek’s ears. Cham smiled.

“Thank you, Master Jedi,” Cham spoke softly as he raised his eyes to look at the stars. “May you live on in your son, in my daughter– your wife’s life… in my life.”

Drawing a deep breath, Cham added.

“And may the Force be with you wherever you are now, Kanan Jarrus.”

Aaargh, for some reasons, I forgot to put a link to the inspo on the original post. Fixed.

And the inspo itself was prompted by @mamidlo ’s AWESOMEly sweet art here:

Heeey remember this ficlet I wrote?

Don't know how many Jedi escaped Order 66.

But they all got warned when Obi-Wan used the Jedi beacon to warn them away.

And who gave Obi-Wan that idea?

Why, young Caleb Dume of course.

Then much later on, who caused the Empire to fail to develop their tactical/strategic starfighter, thus making them rely on the Death Star, thus allowing the Rebels to ultimately defeat then?

Why, older Caleb Dume of course. A.k.a., Kanan Jarrus.

Give Kanan Jarrus / Caleb Dume the recognition that he deserves!!!

I am still salty that the paintings in the cave, where a certain Child of the Force was picked up in person by THREE Jedi Masters, never got explored in depth.

Oh hey, you're alive! AND ANYTHING INVOLVING THAT NOT BEING LOOKED INTO MORE MAKES ME FERAL.

“We have to accept that sometimes, Kanan leads the way, Obi-Wan, Gandalf even, “Fly you fool, fly.””

Dave Filoni in an interview with SyFy.

There’s Gandalf again.

Hints? You bet!

Gentle reminder that Filoni himself once mentioned Kanan in the same breath as Gandalf.

We know Gandalf the Grey died ... and came back as Gandalf the White.

Grey ... White ...

Hmmmmmm......
