So. My thoughts.
Just as a prelude: i am not hyperfixiating on pokemon anymore (thats why its kinda been dead here), so my thoughts are from someone who is so buried in ff7 and still reeling from yesterday
The remakes look...okay. I dont really care for them, if im being honest. I dont have any nostalgic ties to gen 4, and thats what its catering to: nostalgia. Its clear that theyre trying to change as little as possible so people with nostalgic ties to gen 4 dont bitch about everything being changed.
And i dont really like that. I like it when remakes actually change things. ORAS changed quite a bit, and if i may pull something from another franchise: FF7R is changing the entire fate of the OG in a cool and unique way. I dont know why someone would just want the same game again- so far its looking to be less of a remake and more of a remaster.
And the fact theyre getting a different company to make it ticks me off. I get wanting to try new things, but with how game freak feels like it is, it feels like GF just doesnt care to make the remakes.
Overall, i just dont care. Legends seems to be more up my alley and i am genuinely excited for that game, but the remakes just dont interest me.
And its fine if youre interested in them! This is my personal thoughts post lol dont feel bad if you dont agree
