When he defected, he was just running away. He was all set to run off and be forgotten, until he saw Rey get taken. Only then did he start running back into danger, to make sure she was safe. 

I mean true but that just means theyre portraying finnrey as a lopsided ship - as if Finn’s only motivator is Rey. What about his family? What about what he thinks is right? 

Was it Rey that made him lower his blaster away from the villagers? No. It was his own sense of morality.

Imagine if this was the other way around. If they were marketing it as if Rey’s sole reason to fight was Finn. People would be calling SW out for being sexist, so why isn’t this a problem?

I don’t like edgy adult cartoons. The fact is that parents have a hard time telling the difference from cartoons made for kids and shit like South Park. A lot of people who have been watching South Park since elementary school age has definitely had their moral view of the world extensively damaged from growing up watching a show that tells them that they’re allowed to be the worst person they can and that anyone that fights for anything is a stuck-up asshole.

Edgy adult cartoons, are going to be watched by kids a lot more than it would be if it were live action. Especially if it’s in an art style that makes it look like a kids show. Kids don’t have great moral processing. A kid sees Cartman as the main character yelling his typical anti-Semitic rhetoric and thinks that this is good because the “good guy” in the show is saying it. South Park is a bad satire. And even if it was a good satire, little kids aren’t really able to identify satire.

i doubt it completely. there are many actors who work on multiple projects at the time. but the studious always make sure to negotiate that their leads will be able to attend promotion tours between filming. lucasfilm and disney are not a minor studio and john has been working on their films for longer, so i am sure there were negotiations about this made when he signed up for pacific rim. john being erased from this is not because pacific rim. it’s because of lucasfilm and i wish fans would stop trying to find excuses for this shit. john went out of his way to make it to the celebration, only to be ignored there, while adam who could not be bothered to make it was constantly praised and celebrated. so enough with the excuses. 

enough with this benefit of the doubt bs. we have given hollywood the benefit of the doubt for years and look how far it’s gotten us. john went out of his way to make it to the celebration only for lucasfilm to ignore and snub him there. they have snubbed him from advertisements and interview.
