how it feels thinking about the fact that edmond dantes count of monte cristo from hit mobile game fgo has no wish for the grail and so if you have no wish you cannot be summoned as a Servant however goetia plucked him out of the throne and has him meet guda, who he was tasked to kill within those weeks. that fledgling Master he met that day near the apartment complex and again in prison tower. the Avenger that is the demon of vengeance, belonging to a class that never forgets as beings of flame and hatred for the world that has irreversibly changed them into creatures of fangs and howls, witnessed a star's resolve and iron determination. and so seeing such radiance, decides to answer with his own by allowing himself to be summoned, reaching out to a star to be by their side, because that is his accomplice, his co conspirator that fights alongside him, understands him for who he is. and its because of guda being themself that we see him get summoned to chaldea as a Servant as had it been anyone else, he would have surely declined and he would never answer that call doy uo realize that do you realize???? that???? he is not a man who gives into fate or destiny, he is a man who has experienced the depths and bowels of despair and so refuses to give into anything that any divine intervention, ordainment or saint would impose onto him, he is beyond salvation he is eternally that demon from the famous revenge story beloved around the world but a star had shone in his line of sight, bearing a soul that is beautiful wherein despite all odds, its luster refuses to rust and continues its path forward despite the bloody trail they leave behind, despite the heavy body that weighs them down and so he answers in kind, in his own way as himself, for who he met that day. he is not edmond dantes saved by love, his flames extinguished, and started life anew. he is not that man, however he still once was that man, who tasted the sweetness and joys of love and happiness and so knows the pain that those who struggle and claw their way through bear. flames that burn so fiercely as compassion and as hate, flames born from injustice and desperation. he allows himself to be summoned. he reaches out to that star asking for strength, just to lend them strength so they could forge their own. and with those flames, he will burn a brilliant path for them forward.
