So I got an ask from @knz-sweetpea about banding poodle doodle oodle hair. HERE is a shitty tutorial courtesy of yours truly:

Supplies:

- 1 dog that currently looks like a muppet

- 1 comb

- 1 slicker brush

- Thin hair bands

- Maybe a photo reference or just the patience to redo all this stuff

So let’s begin…

First, grab yourself a dog and make him look as goofy as possible. This step is absolutely not optional so don’t skip it!!

Next, brush out all that hair. You can give your pup a big ole pillow for their comfort and because they look so dang comfy and cute resting on it

Now that the hair is all brushed and free of tangles, part it down the middle. You can bask in this moment of embarrassment and take photos if you feel like it. Be sure to comfort your dog and don’t give him a mirror.

Here is the banding done on one half because I shouldn’t be doing tutorials and I have no sense of planning. But the left side is what it should look like finished. The right will be where I show you how it’s done 💪🏻

You’re going to wanna take the front small section of hair and separate with something straight. I use the pointy end of the comb- I don’t know what the hell its actually called.

Next, put a band on that bit. I wrap it three times but do what works for you. Don’t have the hair pulled super tight or your dog is likely to paw at it bc it’s peeling their eyes back and no one wants that. I usually pull it forward a bit to make sure it is loose enough to move around but still be in place.

Here you will take the back bit and section it off like before. I usually stop at the beginning of the ear but once again it’s up to you and what you like best.

Now you will skip banding the back section and just hold it together closely as possible. Put the front section with the back and use one band- higher up on the front section- and band the two bits together. This part is tricky and can take some practice. Make sure your dog stays still or you’re going to have some weird hair styles going on.

Finally, you have the bands done. Feel free to adjust and loosen or tighten bands as needed. Sometimes if I don’t like them I just redo it and curse myself over wasting hair bands that cost me an entire dollar. Congrats your dog can now see and looks cute af. Functional and fashionable 🐩✨

Nova says thanks now get out of here you absolute loser I don’t need you now that I am beautiful.

It’s officially fall so the service pood in training and I went shopping for warm sweaters and Halloween stuff. She is great ! And very unamused with Halloween costumes / decorations. @woolywoofs

You’re not alone in this fight.

Your faith may be weak but you are not broken,

And even if you are broken,

Your God is strong and faithful.

He will restore you and save you.

He will never leave you.

Don’t give up, He hasn’t given up on you.

He’ll never give up!
