I did my first paper cut in absolutely ages today! Really happy with how it turned out. It’s the line ‘I will be safe in my frame’ from the Tori Amos song Parasol. This is my entry for the March Tale in Neil Gaiman's 'A Calender of Tales' project. It shows Anne Bonny, old and young, with the ship she so desires in the centre. I'm really pleased with how this turned out, I thought I'd really push myself this time because I find people pretty hard to draw and make paper cuts of. I love the project, I think it's encouraged me to do some of my best and most interesting work. The second and third photos are to show what it looks like unmounted; I really like how the shadows play on the wall. You can read the stories here:
