A PALESTINIAN CITIZEN AND HIS DOG FROM GAZA RAISES THE VICTORY SIGN FROM INSIDE HIS DESTROYED HOME.
this is like the democrat version of when republicans see a long line at the food pantry and are like "this is what america would look like under communism"

Who cares what Biden says. He's a racist who thinks Arabic words are antisemitic by nature. Intifada.
replies are off so I cant ask it there but when did he call intifada antisemitic /gen (or do you have a clip of it)
what went down in nyc at columbia and city college was a massive escalation and a huge show of violent force from the police in what is already one of the heaviest policed cities in the country, if not the world. sending hundreds if not thousands of riot cops, counter terrorism, SWAT and NYPD's notorious SRG units armed with what is basically military equipment to beat up college students and barricade columbia faculty into their apartments. the fact that they removed all press from campus and refused to let journalists in before they swept the camp is very concerning. a lot of journalists said this was an unprecedented use of force even for the NYPD and it seemed like an excuse for them to use a lot of their new equipment. out of around 300 people arrested on tuesday, some still havent been released or even processed. this is illegal in new york state btw, people have to be arraigned within 24 hours. NYPD has been giving very little information about the people detained, not specifying where theyre being held, and taking a suspiciously long time to process them. they're apparently trying to charge some protestors with felonies. anyways all this is to say this is a major escalation from NYPD and a grim sign for the future. this is a prelude to fascism, not an alternative.
Surprised that tumblr isn’t talking about the death of Frank Tyson. A policeman killed him after kneeling on his neck. It happened on april 18th, but the video of his arrest got released today.
It’s truly heartbreaking, Frank Tyson was a 53 year old black man who had only been released from prison for 12 days. They pinned him to the ground with handcuffs and only 8 minutes of being crushed with the officers knee to his neck, even after he stated he couldn’t breathe, they realized he’d died. They waited 5 minutes to check for his pulse and 3 to commence CPR.
The Cleveland police murdered him, even making a joke of ‘always wanting to be in a bar fight and not being sure if this counted’. This was all caught on camera. On the police body cams.
His family hadn’t even had the chance to see him out of prison, their last sight of him and words from him is going to be the video of his death. A video where the circumstances are far too familiar to the death of George Floyd from 4 years ago. Please, the video is truly horrible. You can hear him choking. You can hear him calling for help.
If anyone has anywhere to support his family during this time or anything, please, we can’t keep watching black men be killed and watching the police laughing in our faces about it.

This home in the Fatih district of Istanbul has ancient Roman foundations under Ottoman-period archways, with the house dating to the start of the Turkish republic (c. 1920's).

How dare you accuse me of denying genocide, I am literally neurodivergent and there is so much things going on in my life that I have no spoons for hearing your negativity! How can you be so selfish to get angry at me?
nearly 300 people were arrested in nyc last night
many people still havent been released yet. apparently a lot havent even been processed so no one knows where theyre being held, which is a bit unusual
starting to encounter fellow americans who explicitly use tankie to mean "pro-palestine"
Lama Jamous and her family have been successfully evacuated from Gaza.
[Image description: a post from Simone Umba that reads: a single post really can change everything
I don’t know how to summarize what the last 48 hours have been like. This is something we have hoped and prayed for everyday for the last three months. Every single thing we went through from beginning to the end was worth it to see @Lama Jamous and her beautiful family safe.
It also breaks my heart that they are away from the land they love and deserve to be on. That their family and their people are enduring the unthinkable for simply existing.
I wish it didn’t take such a terrible circumstance for this family to cross paths with us in this life but I’m thankful that they did. I’m thankful that this little girl’s face came across my feed. She has changed my life more than I could even describe in words. Lama has the biggest heart in the world and is a light of hope in this world. Every day, she wears Palestine. Whether it’s her bracelet, her necklace, or the flag in her bag. She has such an amazing and beautiful future ahead of her.
I pray this genocide ends and that the people of Palestine can return to the land that is rightfully theirs.
