Yakuza 3 has a habit of making very serious scenes very funny…
2nd img is a joke stolen from Tales of the Abyss actually. anyways whats important is that loki has teeth
Maruki is not a good person:
The more I think on the 3rd semester in P5R the more I realize how emotionally manipulative Maruki was. Especially with the confirmation that Akechi lives after 2/2 and went to rehab in reality, while Akiren was in jail. This implies that Maruki probably knew that Akechi was fine (like it wasn’t in the final cut of the game, but with his appearance in the final cut scene at the train station and the rehab scene existing in unused game files, I’m considering it canon that he’s alive) . I mean he manipulated Akiren, the Phantom Thieves, and Sumire before then, using them for his research for this new reality he created, why wouldn’t he continue to lie about whether or not Akechi actually died?
If you consider that Akechi cannot remember anything before Christmas Eve too it’s a pretty convincing lie to an emotionally vulnerable Akiren, who cannot confirm this to be true or not. (However this is another reason that points out why Akechi is alive, as Maruki changed reality on 1/1, not before the end of the year- which makes me assume personally that Akechi snapped out of his self-induced haze (induced via when he summoned Loki in the fight in Shido’s palace) and sought out Akiren on 12/24)
Lastly, Maruki is supposed to be a parallel of Shido (same goal of manipulating people’s perception/reality). Maruki is just outwardly friendly, which is why it was so hard for the PTs and Sumire to accept that Maruki was not “a good guy”, as they associate manipulation and malevolent actions with people who seem to project a bad/evil image. Akechi, aka someone who doesn’t trust anybody and knows that Maruki is emotionally manipulating Akiren, is instantly aggressive- most likely from his own experiences with all sorts of nasty people.
Way back in 2007 I knew I had to do something with those two and this song, but I didn’t know what, or how. Now I know - this, and something else that’ll come soon.
Sometimes art takes… time.
Persona 5 the Animation - Dengeki Comic Anthology Chapter 12: Two-Faced Syndrome
I highly appreciate the Yusuke and Goro rarepair due to their shared common ground of having shitty dads who selfishly used them and having Yusuke be able to intuitively see through Akechi’s fake nice guy facade was a nice touch
thinking today about how the entire concept of the lock on shido’s door that you can only open with the five letters of introduction is that these are the five people who shido considers to be such essential patrons of his operation that they literally protect him from threats in his cognitive world and you can’t even see him if you don’t get past them. thinking about how goro wanted to become so essential to shido’s operation that he could wield some kind of power over shido and force him to regret his actions, and how goro sold himself into a conspiracy with a man he hated for a pipe dream at revenge. but in the end none of the required letters of introduction are from goro… shido doesnt even consider him important enough to be one of the five figures who keep the door locked… cognitive akechi is just a fanatical idiot kid whose only purpose is to murder the real akechi if he ever tried to escape the conspiracy or betray shido. not only is cognitive akechi not essential, he’s not even relevant to most of the ship. entirely disposable, entirely replaceable, just kept around because he has a halfway interesting talent and is exceptionally easy to manipulate due to his desire for attention and affection, making him low cost and low risk to keep around. goro had done all that just for a shot at being wanted and needed and given some kind of love and definitely made sure that he looked the part of someone who was a member of society who was wanted and needed and given love, but really his situation in shido’s conspiracy was basically just as disposable as when he was an orphan in the foster system with nicer clothes and a better facade
Felix and Glenn are in the endless list of things that make me sad in FE3H
