more people need to consume media how dedicated comics fans consume their media of choice
go up to any comics fan and ask them which writers house they would mail pipe bombs to and they’ll list of at the bare minimum 5 different people. ask them their favorite character and you’ll be greeted with an answer followed by why every comic ever featuring that character has been literally the worst and they refuse to read it again. truly i don’t think there’s another group of people so invested in something that they truly despise to such a great degree.
to people who keep saying that this applies to their respective fandom: you will never experience this
yes that's how bourgeois media tries to trick workers into being against strikes. Any delays are solely due to United Parcels Service incorporated not properly paying their workers.
By not negotiating, the company - hand-in-hand with the bourgeois media trying to make that the sob story - are actually holding medical equipment for ransom.
wait you mean UPS delivers medical equipment vital to people’s continued health and well-being?? damn! Sounds like their job is more important than we thought, and maybe we should give them the pay and benefits they deserve!
I am NOT trying to trick you into putting a leash on. and if you would just come here, within leashing-range, you'd be able to see that
did you guys know that people ship the real life white boys who drive nascars because i didn’t until somebody reblogged this with that added
a moment of silence, please
There's no such thing as a definitive gay experience because just being LGBT means you have your own experiences and culture and niches and so there can never be just one correct definitive "gay culture" however you can do it wrong by being a swiftie

"do you seriously think you're above the rules" the stupid ones yeah
if you want me to follow the rules you have to make sure they're not stupid. this isn't a difficult concept to grasp.
Many people are noting that Nimona isn't very subtle about its message and themes (cue the rainbow breathe weapon). And you know what, I think it's awesome. We're used to thinking subtlety is good, and even queer people frequently agree that queer stories should be "well made" and "not too preachy". That's not wrong in itself, but here's the thing: after spending millennia as "the love that dare not speak its name", we desperately need stuff that isn't subtle, but loudly, blatantly, obnoxiously queer... AND well made, because these are not opposites. Subtlety for its own sake becomes just another closet. After realizing it, I won't be comfortable writing queer subtext anymore -- not until I see queer text become commonplace.
Absolutely losing it over this comment under a Nimona and Ballister dance party clip
if you’re a white creator and your brown/black characters are always sassy, reckless, aggressive or cold and your white characters are always soft, demure, shy and introverted you should think about maybe why you did that
sorry to hijack your post, but imo this also applies to colourism dynamics, even if you have a full cast of colour. like i can only confidently speak from the south asian context, but RAMPANT colourism in the community has given rise to and perpetuated these same stereotypes of people with darker skin being more aggressive and sexually promiscuous than the “reserved, civilised” light skins.
This applies to your wlw and mlm ships as well. If the lighter or white one is always sweeter, nicer, softer, more innocent, or more feminine and the darker or poc one is always meaner, louder, more aggressive, more sexual, or more masculine then you’ve got a problem sweetie and that’s racism.
If you reblogged this from me then please reblog this addition too!
