With 460,000 (SPS) copies sold in the US last week, “thank u, next” by Ariana Grande has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This is Ariana’s first #1 on the chart, as well as her highest selling debut (surpassing “Problem” with 438,000 copies sold). “thank u, next” became the first and only pop song of 2018 to top the Apple Music US chart at #1. The song also reached #1 on Youtube, iTunes, Spotify, and Tidal, making Ariana the first and only female pop artist to top all major streaming platforms in 2018. With over 70 million streams on Spotify, Ariana posed the biggest streaming week in Spotify’s history. “thank u, next” is the first song by a lead female artist to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 since Adele’s “Hello” in 2015.
