It’s such a common trope to pit siblings (especially brothers) against each other, but I’m glad that this Thundercats at least gives them a good reason for this behavior. Lion-o is the birthright heir to the throne (as is the Cats’ custom), and Tygra is his adopted older brother. Tygra is superior at most things, but because “that’s not the way things are done”, of course he’s going to feel angry, jealous, betrayed by his parents, overshadowed…
In the end though, he knows Lion-o is still a good younger brother. He cares about him, even though they fight about every other thing in the series, there’s still a bond there. Tygra may have a justified chip on his shoulder, but Lion-o’s got a heavy cross to bear too. And sometimes, when you’re brothers, you learn to see that in each other, and help each other out in spite of those problems.
