Dear Mr. McFadzean:
This letter is to confirm that you have completed the required minimum of six (6) years of daily comic strips, as outlined by the Government of Canada’s Cartooning Standards Act of 1967. According to our records, your final strip count is 2,192 (365 in black and white, 1,827 in colour).
Now that your obligations have been fulfilled, you are no longer required by law to produce daily comic strips. However, the Ministry strongly encourages citizens to maintain some form of structured cartooning practice such as drawing a single daily panel, daily inking exercises and/or daily paper cutouts.
Please complete the attached paperwork and submit it to Library and Archives Canada within sixty (60) days. Further, do not forget to report all cartooning income to the Canada Revenue Agency by 30 April 2016.
Regards,
Y. Mailloux
