Vivzie has such an immensely unearned pretentiousness and bravado about her work given how she has one of the most unconfident art and character design styles I've ever seen make it to television. It's frenzied in it's addiction to making sure everyone is thin and covered in useless symbols and pinstripes. I didn't know it was this bad I was hoping the criticism I've seen online was at least a little cherry picked but these characters' visual chemistry bar is below ground.

It is impressive how awful these character designs are. I would struggle to do this on purpose

This is the sort of thing you're supposed to grow out of as a teenager. These are not characters you design with the intent of animating them

the worst thing about this show is how incredibly muddy it is visually. All the designs are over the top and cluttered to the point of being so illegible from any distance. The colorscheme seems to be just a flat red mess with very little contrast or pops of other colors. The character design philosphy changes seemingly character to character they all clash and feel like they're from different universes (in a bad way). I've seen the show in motion and it has the overly animated movement you find in newgrounds teen animations that are trying to be flashy. Nothing about this show seems to follow any rule of how to make animation efficient or clear for your viewer to understand. It flat out ignores every rule of legible character design and world design.

What the fuck are you morons even talking about?.??

Also, character design rules aren't real. Fuck you

"Cringe culture is dead" whatever happened to that? Whatever happened to that, hmmm???

Is this the only string of words you people know how to say when someone disagrees with you

I'm doing it gang, I've spent stupider gardening money before like when I dropped $300 on shade loving perennial bulbs only to learn they were also plants that rotted with wet feet and all immediately died in my swampy gumbo soil

I'm buying two firefly petunias. I've never grown petunias much because where I live they're a winter annual but fuck it I'll grow them as an indoor plant I certainly have the sun to do it.

They're supposed to ship to me in April, I'll report back on if they immidiately die or this is the coolest thing I own. My biochemical engineering design project was using a similar chemical pathway to modify bacteria to glow in the presence of specific toxins so I absolutely need glowing petunias in my window box

Yaaalll my plants arrive tomorrow!!!! I'm so excited

My glowing GMO petunias have arrived!! I'm glad I ordered 2 one seems really leggy and about to snap off it's roots if I'm not careful transplanting. They've been in a dark box for 2-3 days so I can only just barely perceive light from the more sturdy bush if I close myself into my pantry, but it is definitely there!

I'm putting it under my aquarium grow lights for a few hours till full dark and I'll report back!!

I'll probably give them 2-3 days to recover from shipping before I transplant them

Holy shit y'all

The flower buds and new growth glow the brightest! This is so cool!!! I definitely want to know if it starts to glow more brightly with a few sunny days

It's been a few days so I've transplanted my petunias. Since I don't trust this spring weather to hold I've been keeping them inside under an old aquarium grow light. The glow is getting more intense! Once your eyes adjust to the darkness the plants stems new growth and buds glow all the way to the soil. I've been putting them on my bedside table at night to enjoy the glow.

OCD symptom i struggle with but don't see talked about a lot: inability to trust your own memory and/or perception.

as an example: i put my headphones in my bag. i say im sure they're in my bag, but what if i imagined putting them in my bag? i have to check, so i stick my hand inside and grab them. but then i have to check *again* because what if i just so happened to have another object shaped and sized exactly like my headphones that i just forgot about? so i have to pull them out of my bag and look directly at them to fully confirm they were in my bag

this is a fairly benign example but this also happens with other worse scenarios for me and it's. not fun

How did you learn to draw fat bodies but still keep it cartoony? I love how you draw different types of bodies and make them all seem normal instead of certain body types sticking out like a sore thumb next to others. I struggle to draw fat bodies without it looking weird with the rest of my art. Do you have a specific tutorial you followed or something?

Avatar

This is a really good question! I'm glad you like my depictions of different body types, i worked really hard to get better at that so im happy folks enjoy em!! I didn't actually learn from a book or tutorial, it was mostly looking at fat bodies IRL and learning to incorporate those features onto what I already drew. As it turns out, we're all human, so if you understand the anatomy enough to draw a skinny person, you have the tools to understand the anatomy of a fat person.

So, like, here, this is my sketch of someone with a very average build. If I were to draw a fat body, I would still use all the basic principles I use here. One mistake I think folks run into is "isolating" parts, which can lead to things like this

which isn't necessarily bad, but if its not what you're going for, the issue is pretty apparent. Weight affects ALL of the body, not just the stomach or the face or the limbs. If you think about how that weight affects everything in tandem then you can start drawing fat bodies that work more in your style.

for this, this is the same quick sketch using the same pose and principles as the first one. but! I allowed the weight to be distributed across the body. Notice how the legs, belly, arms, etc all got thicker? The key to drawing fat bodies and making them look like they fit is allowing that weight to affect everything. without it, it just looks like you're adding on features to someone rather than considering everything at once.

my other tip is: don't be scared! things like fat arms or chins or bellies or stretch lines are not something that's bad to depict. if you want to draw fat bodies, you gotta not be scared to draw things the way they are. someone having a fat body is not bad, and you drawing that fat body is not bad either. Experiment! To me, art is about representing ideas, and the only way to get better is to experiment with how you represent those ideas. I'm by no means an expert, and I think you can also get a ton done by looking for resources aside from me, but I hope this helps, and have fun!!
