any youtuber rec??
I've been watching a lot of emma in the moment because i dont know anything about crocheting/anything similar so i find drama about it fascinating
mrkravin is my favourite horror game youtuber because he plays a lot of indie games and i've been watching him since i was in like highschool, i found out about some cool games through him. he also doesnt scream or yell which is why i started watching him in the first place
and then i think a lot of people on tumblr already watch him but jacob geller. his video on modern art is my favourite video essay ever and made me change a lot of what i think about modern art
i love that you're everywhere, everytime i join a new fandom i find art made by you :D
(i really like your style btw, keep up the good work!!)
I am on a constant quest to absorb every part of the world into my head and this includes media. One day I will play watch and read everything ever. Related if anyone has any suggestions for media they think I should read watch whatever let me know
old falins i never posted
Did you receive any formal art education?
when my parents saw i had interest in art as a little kid (around age 5) they put me in art classes at the art and music school my mom was a music teacher at. so i would go to regular school then there afterwards. then in highschool i stopped going there and just took art classes at my regular school. then i went to art uni and now im here. obviously im very privileged to have had those opportunities so i wouldnt recommend comparing yourself to me in terms of art training and growth because of that. my parents also come from a cultural background that takes the arts more seriously and were very serious in me having extra schooling and training and i was expected to commit to it full time and i know thats not the case anymore in a lot of places
How do you stay so cool and awesome 🥶 erm also who/what are ur biggest art inspirations? Also you make so many detailed pieces do have any tips for not burning out? From ur biggest fan, spongeboab.
in terms of burn out: i trained myself to draw very fast so none of my pieces take me over ten hours individually. that way i tend to get them done pretty quick and dont have to struggle with trying to come back to finish them although i still end up with a lot of wips of course. i also make sure to spend a lot of time doing stuff that isnt drawing, especially stuff like watching movies or playing games so that i recharge creatively. in uni i had classmates who said they didnt watch movies or play games (even though we were in game art..) read books or listen to music etc, nothing else creatively or any other hobbies and they were always the fastest to burn out and fall behind. its really important to take time to look at what other people are making and that doesnt just mean scrolling social media and looking at pictures there but you know going to see something or maybe trying to crochet something if youre into that anything really. also switching between traditional and digital can help (even just having a traditional sketchbook. i draw random things on paper when im especially frustrated)
some big art inspirations in no particular order and not including everyone ever:
