FINALLY making an actual post about this guy! This is Azurion the dragon. He's an ~8 foot long puppet controlled entirely by my left arm and hand, including the blinking mechanism! I also made a fake arm, and I think it really adds to the illusion that Azurion is 'real'. The project took roughly 6 months to complete (including planning, slacking, and lots of trial and error), and he was finished just in time for the last 2022 weekend of the Colorado Renaissance Festival. I plan on adding more to him and refining the details quite a bit, but I'm pretty pleased with the current results!

this is why THIS IS WHY Evan Cross is in my top five favourite guys of the primeval universe. man has watched his wife be torn apart by an albertosaurus. This is the SIXTH EPISODE, man has seen pterodactyls, utahraptors, titanaboa, terror birds & a lycaenops yet THIS. A singular Daemonosaurus. THIS is when he starts screaming. he is brilliant, he is smart, he is a disaster. i love this disaster dinosaur man so much.
Who wants to help me ID some rocks?
So one of the cool things that got left at the new house is the former owner's rock and fossil collection, which they meticulously catalogued by which I mean they left them out under some junipers in the back yard. The power is out, so I'm spraying some of the dirt and leaves off with the hose, but if anyone has guesses I'd love to hear them.
1. The Big Fucker:
(10 in screwdriver for scale)
First clue that there was a secret collection, this was the only one really visible. Pale translucent blue-green cubic crystals and skinny, more opaque/white ones on top of a heavy dull white rock. Pretty, whatever she is.
2. Salt n Peppa
Pretty sure the black stuff is smoky quartz, but what are the white cubes and the red rock it's on?
3. Sparkly Bois:
Two of these- I think the little cubes are pyrite, but what's the dark, shiny/metallic stuff? Very heavy for their size.
4. Assorted Dead Things!
Fossil clams and a coral I think, but if anyone knows anything more specific I'd love to hear it. Pretty sure most of these things are from the Rockies/front range area but genuinely, I don't know where they got them.
5. IDK what she is, but her name is Helen:
Like a bunch of criss-crossing wafers. Not very heavy for her size.
6. Green Stuff:
What are the green crystals coming out of this rock? They're cool, whatever they are.
7. Miscellaneous Shinies:
Assorted small rocks I found while digging. Small dead clam, I think some of that is mica, and I'm really curious about the shiny stuff on the granite (?).
Part 1/2, gonna hose some more rocks while y'all speculate.

8. Beachfront property:
Another coral/crinoid fossil? Pretty, whatever they were.
9. If this is Garnet I'm gonna flip
HEAVY rock, with these big red-black crystals coming out. I'm hoping it's Garnet because that was my grandmother's birthstone so it's a family favorite.
10. It's not easy being green (and blue)
I know these are copper-based minerals making the green/blue. Bottom right is REALLY heavy for it's size.
11. Garnet in something green?
Another red-black crystal in a pale green rock. Very cool.
12. HEXAGONAL
Pale green and I don't think it was cut like this.
STILL YET MORE:
13. Glittery!
Hard to tell from the pic but it's refractive like labradorite, and lighter than expected like mica. Probably mica?
14. ORANGE
I know this is probably orange calcite but it's practically neon irl and I love it.
15. Glittery part 2
Kinda hard to see in the pic, but this mostly-white-with-dark-red-streaks rock also has bright silvery flakes in it. Very cute. Would make a good eyeshadow palette.
16. ... that's not granite, or granite is a lot sparklier than I remember
What's this very sparkly black stuff in the white rock?
17. Orange 2: the greebleing
VERY heavy for it's size, feels metallic.
18. This one I'm genuinely curious about
Rusty before I rinsed it off, VERY heavy, shiny on the flat side even when not wet. Doesn't look like the slab of allegedly obsidian at my parent's house? I'll see if I can find a magnet tomorrow.
This concludes the rock collection, at least until I take out the wood pile and juniper root ball, where more might be hiding!
firestar survivor's guilt is so real to me..
his clanmates ask him about the old forest and he's telling them stories of his mentor (blueystar <3) and yellowfang and runningwind and swiftpaw and all of his old friends and clanmates and he trails off a bit at some parts..he gains a weird air to him like he's in a different place a different time he looks to his paws and he goes on about how he could've done so much better and prevented so much and everyone's sitting there like but firestar? weren't you 9 moons when you became a warrior!! you were basically a teenager. you were as old as [blank]paw over there!! and he's like But still. i should've been better and they tell to firestar get some therapy ?
it's all about being young and kind and wanting to help your newfound home even if most of them don't care for you and feeling the weight of the world and its secrets on your shoulders and being unable to tell anyone / feel like you can't..you want to save the cats you love and care for so bad but the world seems adamant on preventing you from doing so and you just blame yourself despite you being young. it's about feeling like you're the only one who can do something!! i love firestar!!! i love him!! they should've explored more of this!! it's not crazy to believe firestar didn't come out of all this without at least some trauma to me
i'm glad he got to kill tigerstar's spirit i'm so glad he was able to prevent tiger from ruining more lives i'm so happy he can rest in starclan and see the loved ones he lost too soon

sure! honestly my eyes are really basic but the key factor is to pick different ranges of hues to give the colors more variance and vibrancy - my darkest pupil color is usually a different shade than my accent (for the blue eyes example, I start with a very neutral cerulean blue, then add in sapphire (which has more purple undertones) but contrast it with a teal/seafoam blue (which has green undertones). Giving variance in hues makes them more interesting even if your eyes are pretty simple!
