On this day last year 23-year-old Korryn Gaines was killed by Baltimore County police and her 5-year-old son was shot in the limb.
She was wanted for a traffic violation, but apparently a SWAT team thought she was way too dangerous for them to try and arrest her without fatally shooting her.
I still think about Korryn a lot.

5 ft 105 lbs girl, whose name has not been officially released yet, was brutalized by Hagerstown police after she on her bike was hit by a car, but refused medical assistance.
Her family’s attorney says that when police arrived, they grabbed the little girl, lifted her hands above her head and slammed her face into a wall.
She was put in the car, which is when a bystander began filming the incident. The video shows the 15-year-old with her hands handcuffed behind her back kicking at the police car door and later a cop is heard saying: “Put your feet in, or you’re going to get sprayed!” Officer proceeds to pepper spray her a few times.
The girl was only taken to hospital when she was released to her parents.
She is now charged with disorderly conduct, two counts of second-degree assault, possession of marijuana and failure to obey a traffic device.

Jionde believes that her thread being disabled was “no accident,” and she has accused Twitter of deliberately removing the thread.
“I believe Twitter deliberately unconnected the thread to deprive people of context. Some will say that it was some sort of system glitch or whatever, but I personally believe they disabled my thread because someone in the office was offended over the first tweet.”
Twitter outrightly denies this, suggesting that the problem could be the result of a bug.
“We can confirm that no proactive measures were taken to remove specific replies from this thread and are looking into this, in the event that a bug may have impacted it,” Twitter’s head of communications, Kristin Binns, told BuzzFeed News.

This is so fucking stupid. Obviously that's why you're protesting. Don't bring your kids though! If adults are losing eyes to rubber bullets during this, what makes you think your child would be remotely okay in this environment?? It's not about the protesting when people criticize this, it's about the fact that you're putting a child directly in harm's way. Go to the protests! Support BLM! But don't bring your fucking kids!

Adults can protest all they want but kids should be left out of it because we know cops are trigger happy and can go off at any moment and are racist and hateful so children shouldn’t be put in harms way on PURPOSE.

To clarify, the child wasn't actually at a protest; the duo were bystanders trying to go home in the opposite direction and the police maced the child anyway.
OP is addressing everyone who IMMEDIATELY jumped on the defense of the officer bc "kids shouldn't be at protests" instead of addressing that what the officer did was wrong.
That’s not true at all. They were protesting. They couldnt have been walking in the opposite direction because that means they would’ve been gone through the line of cops that were completely blocking the other side of the street. It’s just not possible.

There’s no victim shaming going on at all. The fact of the matter is that kids don’t belong at protests. Not once did I defend the cops or shame the parents.
His name/face is currently all over and people are calling for him to be fired.
