Psych 15th Anniversary Celebration Day 4: Favourite Ship | Shassie
Ok so as I was listening to FOB while doing homework I realized that Mania is such a Shassie album.
Like Wilson (Expensive Mistakes)
So the first line is like when Shawn will say the most random things and then usually is right and solves the case. But he also likes to show off and sometimes gets off track.
Next line, everyone is usually in awe of Shawn and his psychic powers. Except Lassie. He doesn't believe Shawn and it reflects in his interaction with him. Like he doesn't seem to like or respect him. Even though we know it's the opposite.
Finally the last line. We all know Shawn gets a bit cagey when he's in one spot too long and usually with problems he'd like to just get on his motorcycle and we'll you know leave.
Ok next is Last of the Real Ones.
Ok so the whole I know this whole city part well Lassie and Shawn both work to help people and stop crime. And it kinda shows how like yeah everyone needs a piece of you and your attention but you understand me. Because they do Lassie is one of ones that sees through Shawn's bs and Shawn can see through Lassie's rough exterior. As well as mutal respect for their detective skills.
Next part. Shawn and Lassie have both gone out of their way to protect each other. One major instance is where Shawn believed in Lassie's innocence despite all the circumstances. I feel like just tell me even if it's not true really resonates with them. Especially Lassie he just wants the truth or at least an explanation. And Shawn usually lies or responds in half-truths.
Finally, I'm pretty sure Shawn was a hot topic between Lassie and his therapist lol.
Ok and last one for now. Hold Me Tight or Don't.
The first part reminds me of Shawn's flirting with Lassie and then his response when Lassie doesn't return it. Also like when they are getting to a better point on their relationship and the trust is lost its kinda like fine whatever. The distance is kinda self-explanatory. Shawn's psychic gig and Lassie's adherence to police procedure will always keep them from getting a closer relationship.
Okay last part, phew. This really scream Shassie. So like if being friends is unrealistic being lovers is even a more impossible thing. And in reality Shawn just wants to be trusted and respected (just be friends) by Lassie. And although they do confide in each other (due to each other's very perceptive natures) it easy to question if they were ever actually friends due to their rivalry.
Ok just a bit of a shassie brain dump. I'll add and more if I think of any. And I'd love to hear your thoughts!

You ever have that non-canon ship that you so desperately want to be canon because there is just too much evidence and so much screen time that they have together, so you try and look for every content that you can find to fulfill your hyperfixation for them, but sometimes it feels like it's not enough? I get that a lot.
