It has come to my attention that many people mistake wyverns for dragons, so here’s a post to help you remember

Dragon: 4 legs, 2 wings

Wyvern: 2 legs, 2 wings

Drake: 4 legs, flightless

Wyrms: long snake like body with no appendages, can also appear as a traditional Chinese dragon with 4. Legs and no wings yet can fly

Amphithere: 0 legs 2 wings, can be feathered

Lindwurms: 2 legs, 0 wings, long body

Luck dragon: 4 legs, no wings, can fly, long body, furry with dog like face

Komodo dragon: 4 legs, no wings, real

Bearded dragon: 4 legs, 0 wings, often kept as pets

as a person passionate as fuck about dragons, i stand by this post

please understand

Why I prefer the term Transgender

The term transsexual is defined as a trans person who has had surgery. I would prefer to continue to be called transgender personally, here’s why:

  • The state of a person’s genitals is no ones business but their own.
  • It makes me feel like surgery qualifies my gender and people who don’t have surgery.
  • Gender affirmation Surgery doesn’t change your sex, only the appearance of your genitals.
  • I think It objectifies trans people by their genitals.
  •  It’s almost always used in either incorrect context or in transphobic context.
  •  It makes people think of sexuality rather than gender, and cis people are confused enough as it is.
  • I know some people like it, so feel free to disagree:)

I would like to be clear that this is only my opinion as indicated by the “I” Statements:)

Whenever I see a post on tumblr suggesting aliens don’t have gender, I always think–‘but what if also the reverse. What if aliens also have some fundamental social construct we don’t’.

Like, they come and meet us and they’re like ‘hey this is an awkward question but what’s your gooblebygark?’

And we’re like what.

‘You know, the… the thing. Your goobledygark. The thing that dictates whether you’re gnarfgnoovles or brubledoopes’

What. What. What the fuck, those words don’t even mean anything??? What are you talking about?

‘Look, your ridiculous human languages don’t seem to have the words for these! But they’re totally a thing, they’re like, fundamental aspects of social life for our species, just… just let us lick you so we can know what verb tense to use when we speak to you.’

What does one thing have to do with the other??? That makes no–

‘UGH, nevermind, you’re totally brubledoopes, I can just tell, I don’t even need to taste your bacterial skin colonies.’

And then another alien overhears and is like ‘holy shit, you can’t stereotype like that, that’s SO NOT COOL’

‘yeaH BUT THEY WON’T LET ME LICK THEM’

The Rosy Maple Moth is a very common moth in North Carolina. It belongs to the silkmoth family Saturniidae, which includes several of the world’s largest and showiest moths.

These moths are forest dwellers, as the caterpillars feed on a variety of trees, including maples. While the larvae are sometimes considered pests of trees due to their leaf munching habits, the adults are completely harmless. In fact, they do not feed at all. Adult Rosy Maple Moths rely entirely on the fat reserves they build up as larvae. (Source)

Sir Christopher Frank Carandini Lee (27 May 1922 – 7 June 2015)

  • Served in World War II as part of the Royal Air Force and British Intelligence Agency from 1941 until his retirement in 1946.
  • Was appointed a Commander of the Venerable Order of Saint John in 1997, and appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2001.  He was also made a Knight Bachelor in 2009.
  • Was a descendent of Italian nobility through his great-grandfather, and his godfather was Prince Alexander of Battenberg.
  • Shared the same birthday as another horror veteran: Vincent Price.  Fellow Hammer horror star Peter Cushing’s birthday fell on the 26th.  While often pitted against each other on film, Cushing and Lee were inseparable friends in real life.
  • In his long, distinguished acting career, he played numerous famous characters, including Sherlock Holmes, Frankenstein’s monster, Fu Manchu, Dracula, and the Mummy.
  • Best known for portraying a myriad of cinematic villains, which was very much aided by his distinctive, commanding voice, and his considerable height of 6′5″.  At one point, he was even entered into the Guinness Book of World Records as “The Tallest Leading Actor”.
  • He was the original choice to play the character of Dr. Loomis in John Carpenter’s classic Halloween (1978), but turned the role down.  He later admitted to regretting this decision.
  • In the animated film The Last Unicorn (1982), Lee not only provided the English voice for the character of King Haggard, but also provided the German voice without additional pay, simply because of how much he loved the story.  Lee could also speak French, Italian, and Spanish, and minimal Greek, Russian, and Swedish.
  • As a singer, he released four heavy metal albums from 1998 to 2013.
  • His acting career spanned nearly 70 years over a record-breaking 281 films, with his final film due to be released in 2016.
