I watched bnha 4 months ago also read the manga and really REALLY enjoyed it, I shipped bkdk before watching it and was so satisfied while reading, but immediately went to the fandom just find out that this series is already ruined for me, I don’t enjoy it anymore I’m so distracted by the hateful things till the point they started effecting me mentally, to put it simple i want to forget everything and enjoy every weekly chapter again, what should I do? I really don’t want to drop BNHA

I understand where you’re coming from. I’ve felt this same way in the past, and honestly still do on occasion. Participating or engaging in fandom can be a fun experience, but it can also be super draining and just plain bad for your mental health. So here are two things I’ve learned to do over the years so I don’t experience burnout:

1. Pace yourself, and 2. Spread your interests.

What I mean by the first is that you shouldn’t try to take in too much at once. Limit your interactions on social media. Don’t read too many articles or fanfiction in one day. Take some time to step away from your computer and take a walk, cook a meal, play with a pet, just something else to distract yourself. By directing all your focus on one single pastime, you start to lose focus on the big picture. Which leads into my latter point:

Don’t hyper-focus. Spending all your time and energy on fandom is just not productive, because you need to divide your energy throughout the day in order to work, play, eat, clean, socialize, and even sleep. Especially to avoid burnout on a series, try to watch multiple shows or read multiple books at different points during the week. Even I have to take a break from anime sometimes, and it usually helps you appreciate it more when you come back. Watching The Good Place or playing Smash Ultimate really lets me mellow out, and it’s fun!

I’d also like to leave you with some personal advice that comes with a big YMMV tag on it, but for real: fuck anyone’s opinions but yours. No one can tell you how to watch a show or read a manga or write a headcanon or ship so-and-so characters. You do you. Because what the fuck do they care? You don’t owe them jack.

What you do or how you experience HeroAca or any other series comes down to you. If you wanna ignore most of the fandom and read it weekly with every issue of Jump, then go for it. Create your own safe space and enjoy yourself. That’s why we read manga in the first place, right? To enjoy a good story. You should too, and don’t let anyone ruin that experience for you.

So

Some of you might have noticed I haven’t really been on Tumblr for a month. Even before the “announcement” dropped about the Dec 17 policy changes, I had kinda been growing disenchanted with Tumblr, and had basically migrated to Twitter. That will now be my primary account, which you can find here. (osakakitty was taken, so it’s osaka_kitty instead)

I’m definitely more active there, but this blog will stay up just in case, and I might post announcements and the like here. Other than that, follow me on Twitter if you want to see BakuDeku art/posts, anime, video games, and general shitposting. Love and peace ❤

Hello, everyone! I have been so gosh darn busy lately, but I need to let you know that I’m in zine!  I authored a fic for Kekkon: A BNHA Marriage Zine, a zine dedicated to the journey of marriage! ❤  Please check out their blog @bnhamarriagezine !!!

There are quite a few ships represented within the zine, but I was blessed enough to be able to write a story for BakuDeku!  It takes place on their wedding day, when they try to find a moment alone, but instead end up running into each other :3c Here’s a preview for you folks:

While Izuku gasps—a tad bit dramatic—Katsuki shuts the door proper and reaches above their heads to pull a chain connected to a bulb on the ceiling. “Deku!?” he exclaims, pointing. “Why’re you in here?” “I could ask the same thing,” Izuku pants, taking in an occasional deep breath to steady himself. “Seems like you’ve been missing longer than me.” “Tch,” Katsuki scoffs. He grabs another chair from the pile against the wall, and places it opposite of Izuku. He sits down, legs crossed, arms folded. “Everyone is acting like it’s the end of the world if we don’t have this perfect, fairytale wedding, and it’s really getting on my nerves. I just needed some time away, y’know?” Izuku grins, realizing the irony of their situation—the people most ready for the wedding to be over with are the grooms. It’s a little comforting to hear Katsuki feels the same as him. He laughs and replies, “I do.” The two pause, both fully aware of Izuku’s brief slip of the tongue. The room starts to feel warmer, and Izuku tugs on the collar of his shirt to loosen his bowtie. When he glances at Katsuki, his face is red, too. In the awkward silence, Izuku begins nervously fiddling with his ring again. “You, uh…hmn,” Katsuki starts, clearing his throat. “You look good.” Izuku turns back towards him, and is caught off guard once he allows himself to actually look at Katsuki. His bangs have been slicked and styled to keep them out of his eyes, his off-white, open-vest suit matches Izuku’s perfectly, and by some miracle, the silky, maroon tie Izuku picked out for him has managed to stay neatly wrapped around his neck. Katsuki is handsome; Izuku has always known this. But today, in even in the dull light of a chapel storage closet, Katsuki shines brighter than the sun—than the stars. Izuku feels his heat, so warm, so close, burning his cheeks an iridescent pink. “Thanks… You do, too,” Izuku mumbles, twirling a finger in the hair behind his ear.
