It is a domestic cat skull holding the skull of a Socorro dove in its mouth. The Socorro dove was driven to extinction in the wild as a direct result of feral cats being introduced to their habitat.

I see people talking about the Brave browser in the whole Firefox vs chrome debate, and while people rightly point out that it's just chromium and that they do shady cryptocurrency shit, I never see anyone point out that Brave's founder and CEO is Brandan Eich.

He founded Brave after massive protests against him becoming CEO of Mozilla, resigning after 11 days. And the reason for those protests? He donated a lot of money to the Prop 8 campaign to ban gay marriage.

So just remember: it's not just another chromium fork, it's not just a browser with cryptocurrency bullshit, it's also the browser founded by a homophobe because he got kicked out of his former organization for being a homophobe.

Also, he invented Javascript. I'm willing to believe that maybe he has grown on the gay marriage issue, and made amends for his former mistakes. But Javascript cannot be forgiven.

Gotta be one of my favourite tropes.

Didn’t see any posts about it so here it is for the other Photosensitive folks,

Nimona has a lot of flashing lights, no intense strobing (ie Incredibles) but includes:

Alarm sequences (red lights, ‘police’ lights), explosions and gunfire

Sparks/flashing/flickering lights, firelight

Thunderstorms and lightning effects,

Flashes from color to black (hard to describe)

All within the first few minutes of the movie, frequently throughout.

It wasn’t too terrible when I watched with other lights on during the day but I tried watching it with them off and it was pretty bad. Sharing this so other people can find it would be much appreciated!

18th century joke books are interest insights into the ways people thought at that time. A lot of the jokes are bad, many of them barely even seem to follow the setup-punchline concept, and apparently the funniest thing in the world to the British sensibility with cuckold humour. There's also a lot of racial stereotypes for the Scottish, Irish, and Welsh. If you're curious, there's a copy of the 1739 Joe Miller's jests : or, The wits vade-mecum on the Internet Archive. My favourite joke in the whole thing is number 85: A Country Farmer going cross his Grounds in the Dusk of the Evening, spy'd a young Fellow and a Lass, very busy near a five Bar Gate, in one of his Fields, and calling to them to know what they were about, said the young Man, no Harm, Farmer, we are only going to Prop-a-Gate.
