how do you draw like real quick motion?? like what ps effects do you use n do you have any tips? your drawings are amazing I love them sm

WELL !! Gesture drawing is the best way to go about drawing ACTION in my opinion and I usually don’t really like to use many Photoshop effects unless it’s for making things GLOW but if its for motion sometimes I like to use the “blur/Blending” tool to give action a look as if its going so fast the camera can’t catch it! (usually for joke purposes) but personally I like using “smears” more if I’m doing a serious drawing because I prefer them and love the way they look! 

here’s an example of using the 2: 

starting with gesture drawing to get the main lines of action and how the drawing will move

here’s the pose

(ignore the nasty foot cause its just there as a guide!) BECAUSE the leg is the MAIN part of the body that is moving, it will be the part of the body I want to “smear” or blur. 

there are SO MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF SMEARS you can use but this is the one I’ve gone with here ^ all the lines follow the motion in which the legs is moving and the longer end shows which direction it’s coming from.

NOW if i wanted to do a “blur” effect: I select the “blending tool” in photoshop and I set the strength so not very high (it depends on the ‘effect’ you want like if its higher it blends ALOT to the point of it being invisible whereas a low strength blurs it a little to make it look blurry but you’re still able to see the action)

I usually blur it in the direction I imagine the resistance is hitting the body part. in my opinion I don’t very much like how this looks compared to the smear BUT IT REALLY DEPENDS on the context or what you’re trying to get across 

for example if its for joke purposes a BLUR can make an image look like its moving very fast that it’s just absurd or eluding to a punch line:
