Your 20s is a glass of wine

quickly turning to a bottle

graduated college

now life is at full throttle

Wanting to get out of here

but can’t afford a car

can’t look in the mirror

lost your vaccine card at the bar

Drink until you blackout

throw up on your knees

terrified of climate change

destruction of the bees

Picking up a book

just to put it down

depression is a swimming pool

you’re fighting not to drown

Learning about cancer

and the way it eats you up

your fingertips are bleeding

hometown friends turn to dust

Think about it too much

panic seeps into your chest

everyday is everyday

the same as all the rest
