I love how gaming lets you live out crazy fantasies like keeping a houseplant alive for longer than 3 seconds
tfw you’re bothering a cat but not enough for it to MOVE so it just looks Disapprovingly at you
I would just like to point out. The ears are pointing forward. The cat’s sprawling out more as the bowl is shimmied as opposed to getting up to try and get out. That expression is hardly what i’d call disappointment. It’s actually enjoying being gently jostled! Can’t explain why, though. Could be the soothing jiggling motions, like how we sit in a vibrating massage chair sometimes. Or maybe it just sees this as an amusement part ride of sorts. Whatever it is, i can tell the cat is very relaxed and trusting of the person holding it in the bowl. I rate this VERY cute!
reblog to get jiggled
get jiggled, idiot!
I was extremely lucky to grow up in an environment where I never faced sexism or any gender-based discrimination but it does mean now a. I never recognize it and b. My first response when I do is "sexism??? But that's so silly??? In this day and age?????"
Evgeny Sedukhin - “Symphony of the sixth blast furnace” (1979)
Евгений Седухин - Огни трудового Тагила “Lights of Labour Tagil”
Евгений Седухин - Тагильский рабочий “Tagil Workers”
Its incredibly hard to find a lot of his work online but I did my best with my extremely limited knowledge of Russian. From what I could tell he was employed in a stone/gem processing plant before he went to art school. He was very devoted to various positions he held in the party mainly pertaining to artists unions.
Being Russian, do you know anything about this artist?
i have this disease called i will open your message and get distracted and forget to reply and then the notification will be gone so i will not have replied for ages and you will think i am ignoring you but. i am not. it’s incurable
Stop dehumanizing.
I mean it. Stop putting quotes around the word people when describing those who are bad or evil. Stop calling them "things." You're letting them off the hook. People do wicked things; that doesn't make them less of a person, because people are indeed capable of wickedness.
And if we dehumaize others who do evil things, we distance ourselves from the fact that WE are humans who are also capable of doing evil things. And when you have no guard against the possibility that you, too, can be evil, you’re more likely to slip into evil thought patterns without realizing it. Many evil things are done by people who believe themselves infallible and justified.
Waited till today to get my hair cut and now I can't because the only stylist who knows a thing about curly hair isn't working so I guess I'm not getting that done before my date tomorrow

I spent the morning working, attending a narrative design meeting and adding to the game database for an upcoming research project.
Then my sister, her kids and I left for the afternoon. We grabbed a burger before going to a quaint little museum that ended up being delightful. They had a planetarium! A curiosity cabinet! A beehive! And really good sorbets, too.
On our way back, we bought a couple of things that we were sorely missing (a second phone charger, sunglasses, stuff like that). Then it was bathtime for everyone, followed by pre-dinner drinks in the garden and a gargatuan ratatouille, a last hurra before we all go back home tomorrow.
at some point you have to realize that you actually have to read to understand the nuance of anything. we as a society are obsessed with summarization, likely as a result of the speed demanded by capital. from headlines to social media (twitter being especially egregious with the character limit), people take in fragments of knowledge and run with them, twisting their meaning into a kaleidoscope that dilutes the message into nothing. yes, brevity is good, but sometimes the message, even when communicated with utmost brevity, requires a 300 page book. sorry.
Further statements on this: truth has a minimum amount of complexity, wherein simplification even further makes it cease to be the truth. Falsehoods, being entirely made up, don't have this floor on complexity. Odds are that headline is wrong, because it is oversimplified to a point where it ceases to be true.
the edge chronicles really has it all huh. fucked up beasts. sky pirates. gore and violence. the cruel and vicious cycle of nature. librarians who either double as weathermen or knights. a goth librarian who wears a plague doctor mask and worships the devil. giant bear creatures who are Big Friends. a character named bungus. literally who else is doing it like her
