Just in case

Just in case no one told you today: You are deeply loved. Even though the world may seem cold and empty, there's someone out there who loves you more than they express. You are wanted. You are special. You are important to this Earth. You don't have to go to Mars, defeat world hunger, or bring world peace to do something meaningful. Everyday you make a huge impact on the lives around you. Even the smallest of smiles or a little wave can bring the biggest difference. You're going to do something great in your life. Make sure you're there to see it. Please don't be afraid to reach out. Find someone you trust. Find a stranger who you think will help. I am always here, too. Love yourself. Love others.

What to do if you suddenly find yourself homeless

FOOD

  • Find your nearest food bank or mission, for food
  • grocery stores with free samples, bakeries + stores with day-old bread
  • different fast food outlets have cheaper food and will generally let you hang out for a while.
  • some dollar stores carry food like cans of beans or fruit

SHELTER

  • Sleeping at beaches during the day is a good way to avoid suspicion and harassment
  • sleep with your bag strapped to you, so someone can’t steal it
  • Some churches offer short term residence
  • Find your nearest homeless shelter
  • Look for places that are open to the public
  • A large dumpster near a wall can often be moved so that flipping up the lids creates an angled shelter to stay dry

HYGIENE

  • A membership to the YMCA is usually only 10$, which has a shower, and sometimes laundry machines and lockers.
  • Public libraries have bathrooms you can use
  • Dollar stores carry low-end soaps and deodorant etc.
  • Wet wipes are all purpose and a life saver
  • Local beaches, go for a quick swim
  • Some truck stops have showers you can pay for
  • Staying clean is the best way to prevent disease, and potentially get a job to get back on your feet
  • Pack 7 pairs of socks/undies, 2 outfits, and one hooded rain jacket

OTHER

  • first aid kit
  •  sunscreen
  •  a travel alarm clock or watch
  •  mylar emergency blanket
  •  a backpack is a must
  •  downgrade your cellphone to a pay as you go with top-up cards
  •  sleeping bag
  •  travel kit of toothbrush, hair brush/comb, mirror
  •  swiss army knife
  •  can opener

Planet Fitness also has $10 memberships. you can shower and they have free food days! pizza night 1st monday every month, bagel tuesday the 2nd tuesday every month.

theodore nott: a lifetime

  • by age three, theodore nott mutters out his first word a ‘mum’ that makes his father snarl in anger

  • by age twelve, learns that reparo closes the wounds created by a diffindo spell, but that they leave ugly, big scars after it
  • by age thirteen, he learns to use his first healing spell, a shaky voice whispering ferula, bandages strapping his broken wrist

  • by age eighteen, he knows that running away it’s a coward move, but his only option
  • by age nineteen, he learns living in muggle london is ten times easier as he has imagined, once you get your way around the tube and learn how to use pounds and pennies instead of galleons and sickles
  • by age twenty, theo is still hiding in a non-magic world, trying to heal from scars and memories
  • by age twenty-two, pansy parkinson finds him in the middle of a rainy day, they go out to drink and when the wine is tainting theo’s cheeks, pansy tells him that he keeps asking for him, they both know who they are talking about, but putting a name to things make them real
  • by age twenty-three, theo apparates in his old manor, empty, grey and cold as he remembers, and he’s greeted by his house elves like time hasn’t passed by
  • by age twenty-four, he uses the floo to the zabini’s manor, with shaky hands and his heart beating heavily against his chest
  • by age twenty-four, he feels butterflies in his stomach once again
  • by age twenty-five theodore nott starts to make it up for the time lost

Book Rec.

Okay so I finished this book at 2 a.m Tuesday night and I had to go out and buy the second book last night and now I'm halfway done with it and ughhh! Anyway, The Illuminae Files! The first book is Illuminae and the second book is Gemina and frick me the frick up this is my second favorite series (HP will always have my heart ❤️)! If you like sci-fi, futuristic, alternate world-ish books then DEFINITELY 10/10 give them a read!! I'm halfway through the second book and while it so far isn't better than the first one (to me) it's still frick me up good! Warning though: pages are unconventional (not typical full text pages) so flip through it before you buy (if you buy instead of checkout) because you may not like how the book is structured. I love it but we all have different tastes! Okay I'm done 😊

Day 3 - Apple AirPods

Still so far so good! No quality issues, except when you get too far away from your device which is to be expected! Battery kind of sucks but also doesn't??? I start using them at 8 a.m and by noon they're at 11%. However at noon I take a 30min lunch and by the end of my lunch they are fully charged again. So all in all it works out but if you don't have access to a power source and the case is dead, you're pretty f*cked. Charging the AirPods with the case is actually super helpful! If the case is charged then it will charge the AirPods without being plugged in. I used it to charge the AirPods today and it only drained the battery to 64% while starting off being fully charged! And this was after the case fully charged the AirPods! All in all these little things work perfectly for what I want and use them for. Like I said, the battery life doesn't get in the way of my schedule and charging abilities so they last me all day! :)

Day 1 - Apple AirPods

Got my apple AirPods today! So far so good! I was really worried about them reacting to machinery since Siri can be activated by your voice but I stood right next to the machines at work (I work at a printing company) and had zero issue! Sound is clear, I just wish there was a way to adjust the volume on the AirPods themselves!
