Comics, Comic Books and My Thoughts About Comics and Comic Books

Mostly correct, of course, except:

That Kirby should have been paired with Lee as the faces of Marvel, please, no. Lee’s a company man, corporate, rightly the face of the company.

Neal Kirby admits to knowing nothing relevant regarding what’s important vis a vis Kirby and Lee: at whose behest Kirby created or did what.

A competent biography, before it starts judging Lee really should know comics were produced at the relevant times. That is, what an editor adds and interacts with stories, character creation.

Too, in Lee’s he was paid big bucks by Marvel to be a pitchman for the company and, in the course of same, never say anything that would make people realize that Marvel’s characters were created by anyone not a Marvel employee.

Status: On the road for the next couple of weeks. Posting will be… what it will be.
