Howl’s Moving Castle dir. Hayao Miyazaki | 2004
– I’m just telling you now in case my mom says something dumb like you’re fat or whatever. – I thought you said when she says shit like that, it means she cares.
So I saw a poem prompt (between the lines of want and need) that clearly needed Moiraine/Siuan written for it:
What does the wheel offer? A purpose, a direction? An ultimatum.
It does not want, nor have desires. Those are for humans, people lucky in their ignorance. The wheel heeds no need, it weaves the lives of all to its pattern, and cares not for the cost.
People, even Moiraine, are the ones with needs, and wants and wishes. Which one, that drives her tonight to the inn where Siuan waits? For a moment, just them, hidden from all but the pattern. Shared moments between the threads, to love and want, and plan. For a moment, to feign a careless future.
Will the wheel remember their sacrifice? Weave in their need for each other? Their even greater desire to see a prophecy fulfilled?

- I'm tired of being a spoke in the Wheel. - You're not a spoke, boy. You are the water that turns the Wheel itself.

My current (angsty) WIP piece, sepia sketch version.
I planned for this to go alongside a potential new fanfiction/oneshot and there‘s also a colored version in the making. Stay tuned 🤍
If you‘re interested, you can hop to my art instagram where I talk more about this piece and inspirations I took (currently in story, will be saved under highlights). The title is a line from the poem ‘She Died In My Arms‘ by Andrew P. Marheine.
Notes on Towers of Midnight
Starting with the penultimate book, the one with Egwene as full Amyrlin, with Rand post-Dragonmount, with Mat's katabasis to rescue Moiraine! I am vibrating with excitement!
Notes on The Gathering Storm
- BS is much more liberal with shorter and nominative sentences. I feel like I am missing a step at the end of each sentence. It's hilarious.
- I get such whiplash from the not-90-pages prologue.
Hey guys! The WGA is asking for people to sign a petition aimed against Universal. Treegate isn't the first union busting tactic Universal has tried.
They started a construction project that "just so happens" to block some of the sidewalks and forces picketers to walk in the street. The government told Universal they need to install safety rails to replace the sidewalks. A demand Universal has so far ignored.
Please sign the petition for Universal to install the safety rails and reblog.
i get that book fans want Rand as main character as he is in the original series but to me, the fact that the writers went "instead of following the Young Prophesized Hero, let's shift the point of view and make the Mysterious Middle-Age Witch-Advisor the main character" is genius. Give me the original point of view. Give me the morally grey, determined, experienced character sacrificing everything for the fate of a stubborn young man that won't trust her. GIVE ME ROSAMUND PIKE FOR THE LOVE OF-
