It’s the first time the music category has recognized a body of work that is not from the jazz or classical genre.
There's nothing wrong with sex, people.
- Having sex every day. - Saving sex for your wedding night. - Never having sex. - Having sex with different people. - Having sex with one person. - Having sex with a person of your same gender. - Loving sex. - Hating sex. - Being loud. - Being quiet.
The only thing wrong with sex?
When it’s not consensual.
Because that’s not sex. That’s rape.
Reblogging again because this post is so important.

All 27 Amendments
A lot of people think the Constitution is immutable, permanent and unyielding.
Not so much.
This is every Amendment, when it was added, the key point point of the amendment and a central reason why/how it was made an amendment. You’ll notice at the beginning that it reads like a direct response to Things the British Did. That’s because it is.
The Declaration of Independence is a very eloquent break up letter. The Constitution is the diary entry about how life will be better now that George is out of our lives.
1st Amendment 1791
- Rights to Religion, Speech, Press, Assembly, Petition
- in there because the Brits had arrested and attacked people for this
2nd Amendment 1791
- Right to Bear Arms
- in there because the Brits kept confiscating the guns of rebels
3rd Amendment 1791
- Quartering of Soldiers
- in there because the Brits kept telling colonists that they had to let soldiers live with them
4th Amendment 1791
- Search and Seizure
- in there because the Brits kept breaking in and taking stuff
5th Amendment 1791
- Grand Jury, Double Jeopardy, Self-Incrimination, Due Process
- in there because the Brits had some wacky legal shenaningans
6th Amendment 1791
- Rights of Accused in Criminal Prosecutions:Rights to Jury Trial, to Confront Opposing Witnesses and to Counsel
- in there because there were British laws that said that the gentry’s word was absolute and people were tired of being found guilty when they hadn’t done anything
7th Amendment 1791
- Jury Trial
- in there because Magistrates getting to unilaterally decide is a bad thing
8th Amendment 1791
- Protections against Excessive Bail, Cruel and Unusual Punishment
- in there because, guess what, the Brits did this stuff too.
9th Amendment 1791
- Non-Enumerated Rights
- in there to cover their butts and say that just because they didn’t list it doesn’t mean it doesn’t count
10th Amendment 1791
- Rights Reserved to States
- in there because at the time it was more a loose coalition of nearby provinces than an actual country.
11th Amendment 1795
- Suits Against a State
- added because no one liked the ruling in Chilsom v Georgia, and States didn’t want the federal judiciary making decisions about them
12th Amendment 1804
- Election of President and Vice-President
- added because the election 1800 was a mess and 2nd place shouldn’t become vice president
13th Amendment 1865
- Abolition of Slavery and Involuntary Servitude
- added to undermine southern control during the Civil War, and because enough white people had noticed that slavery was bad.
14th Amendment 1868
- Protects rights against state infringements, defines citizenship, prohibits states from interfering with privileges and immunities, requires due process and equal protection, punishes states for denying vote, and disqualifies Confederate officials and debts
- added because the North won the war and they laid down new ground rules
15th Amendment 1870
- Voting Rights
- added because before this only white men of property could vote
16th Amendment 1913
- Federal Income Tax
- added to advance the prohibition movement by getting new revenue for the government other than from alcohol
17th Amendment 1913
- Popular Election of Senators
- added because the Senate was getting super corrupt
18th Amendment 1919
- Prohibition
- added because people thought they could fix all the problems of the country by getting rid of drinking
19th Amendment 1920
- Women’s Right to Vote
- added because women were a big part of the push for prohibition, and they decided to keep pushing.
20th Amendment 1933
- Commencement of Presidential Term and Succession
- added because travel was easier and they no longer had to wait til March to travel to DC
21st Amendment 1933
- Repeal of 18th Amendment (Prohibition)
- added because taking away the alcohol made things worse not better.
22nd Amendment 1951
- Two-Term Limitation on President
- added because Franklin served four terms and everyone got worried about Kings/dictators
23rd Amendment 1961
- District of Columbia Presidential Vote
- added because they weren’t allowed to before this
24th Amendment 1964
- Abolition of Poll Tax Requirement in Federal Elections
- added because of the Civil Rights Movement pushing against how incredibly racist poll taxes were
25th Amendment 1967
- Presidential Vacancy, Disability and Inability
- added because things got confusing after the Kennedy assassination, and because of Woodrow Wilson’s wife running the country without telling anyone about it
26th Amendment 1971
- Right to Vote at Age 18
- added because of the Vietnam War drafting and killing men who weren’t allowed to vote yet.
27th Amendment 1992
- Congressional Compensation
- added because congress shouldn’t be able to raise their own salary
A student who survived the Florida school massacre condemns anyone talking about “thoughts and prayers” at this point: “We’re children. You guys are the adults. You need to take some action and play a role.”

Martin Luther King Jr
It’s nice that everyone is posting about MLK today. But please remember his words and message EVERY DAY. Not just today.
(via bookgeekconfessions)
I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality… I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word. – Martin Luther King Jr. (January 15, 1929 - April 4, 1968)
Way to go FCC
I hope people start rioting in the streets
If you're not scared right now about losing net neutrality; You should be. Study up folks, or 2018 is going to fucking suck.
This isn’t my type of post but Net Neutrality is so important.
Forget your page’s aesthetic, share this with everyone you know. Without Net Neutrality, the internet itself would change.
Companies would be able to charge websites if they want them to load faster than others on your computer. This means that they would purposefully bottleneck speeds on every website that doesn’t have the funding to pay for it faster speed. There’s NO reason for this. Are you a small business with a website and can’t afford to pay enough to get faster speeds? Too bad. Are you someone with a personal blog? Slow page loading. Do you want to view a website written by a nonprofit organization for your school project? You’ll have to wait until the page loads because, since they’re nonprofit, they can’t afford to pay enough to cable companies so that their page loads faster.
An alternative to this would be having to pay for faster internet. Internet service should be priced by usage, not speed. For home internet, unlimited use isn’t all that expensive so it’s really common. You wouldn’t want to pay extra for more speed.
This would possibly affect the way that the internet works on other devices such as your phone, gaming system, laptop, tablet, etc.
We NEED Net Neutrality.
If a company doesn’t agree with a specific website, they could purposefully limit traffic to their site. This would be censorship, something that nobody likes.
There are many other reason as to why you should protect Net Neutrality.
This is an issue whether you’re a Republican, Democrat, Left-wing, Right-wing, young, old, male, female, rich, poor, etc.
EVERYONE SHOULD ADVOCATE FOR NET NEUTRALITY.
Guys, also think about he wider costs. Every business, school, hospital, pharmacy, first responder, government service—every single one uses the Internet. So, yes, the individual user will pay more for access, but so will the institutional users. The thing is, the institutional users aren’t just going to eat the increase in costs. They will pass them on to the consumer. They always do.
Education, healthcare, every single product and service, plus your local, state, and Federal taxes, will all GO UP.
Losing net neutrality will affect the cost of every single product and service offered in this country. Every. Single. One.
Trump is going after this. It’s all about profits.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
