Do you ever wonder about how an author would describe you in a novel? Not only your appearance but the way you talk and laugh and hold yourself and all the expressions on your face?

Dear young females, if a man ever interrupts you say “excuse me I wasn’t finished.” and finish ur statement. The looks u get and his mortified reaction will make u unstoppable. demand respect.

Bringing back this prime advice

No okay, so I do Model U.N. which is basically when a room of 50-300 high schoolers get together and debate real world issues together. After formal debate were given “unmoderated caucuses” which let us form the groups were gonna work with for the rest of the conference. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve had to cut someone off with this statement. And each and every time, without fail, there is a noticeable pause throughout the group, where everyone is SHOCKED that I’d just demanded respect so directly. And the boy ALWAYS stutters for a second before giving up on what he was saying. The key to saying something like this is that you have to take advantage of that moment of shock, and control the situation to finish what you were saying. Treat it normal, don’t take the moment to revel in the fact you finally have the floor. Don’t speak faster to finish your sentence and let the other person talk. Continue on as normally as possible. If you don’t it’s very easy for someone else to take advantage of that second, or your audience can be immature and fall into a chorus of “ooooooh” in turn making you look like a bitch just for demanding respect. Don’t let people view you that way, command the respect you rightfully deserve. What you have to say is important, and it must be heard in full capacity for success. Also, side note: Girls build up other girls!!! In that same setting I’ve cut off boys all the time with a sharp “let her finish, then you can speak.” I’ve had girls thank me later for letting them speak, and it made me feel fucking amazing. Look out for yourself, look out for others. Get your respect.
