Mjolnir hammer necklace piece casted perfectly

sadly my cheap ass rotary tool crapped out on me before I could finish it

Update

Propane blaster get! Now I just need to assemble the foundry and I’ll be able to start smelting and making stuffs!

Sorry for the long wait between updates, but all I’ve been doing lately is trying to get healthier and get stronger so I can do what I wanna do.  My twin came up for Friendsgiving and brought some gifts for me. The first one is a graphite clay crucible for my future metal foundry, really dusty I’m going to have to cure it once my foundry up and running Second is two buckets of mixed bullet casings donated by Lynchburg Arms So I’m going to have to make something for them to repay them at some point And he tells me I got at least 3 more buckets of the stuff that he’ll bring up near Christmas. It’s mostly all brass, but I gotta go through it all because there is some steel ones in there Lastly that cute little thing is a small ingot cast for making really tiny ingots for jewelry and such

Some of the equipment I got at the garage expo yesterday, here you see a vice anvil, angle grinder, iron tongs, a railroad spike, and a mini foundry. I could technically start working on making ingots now, but I promised I’d get some safety equipment for it before I start so I’m waiting on that. Soon though

The Experiment was a success! I wish I had taken a picture of the vinegar before dumping it out safely, because there was little black bits of carbon at the bottom of the container (also dead bugs >.> r.i.p. little buddies) Anyways the screw on the right was soaked in vinegar over night, the one on the left is for comparison. You can clearly see the difference which was what I was hoping for

Doing an experiment to remove galvanization from steel using vinegar and letting it soak over night... Do not inhale may cause metal fume fever... YAY SCIENCE!

Not really much of an update, but here’s where I’ll be setting up shop in the near future. It’s a good 10x9ft and I’ll have at least a foot of headspace once I’m set up. I made a promise not to work on anything like forging or smelting there because it’s so close to the house, but that’s what driveways are for :D

I need a place to work that comes first, I’m going to try and convert the space under our deck outside into a mini workshop for myself where I can store my tools and projects that I’m working on. It won’t be pretty, but it’s something and will be nice to have my own little place to keep out distractions

it’s not much, but here’s what I’ve made so far, worked on at the moment

Jump rings and tools were loaned to me by my sister going to start making my own jump rings using dowel rods later once I’m feeling better
