Please can you publish trustworthy links for donating to Syria so it helps reach the less supported people?

There are 3 main ones I know of (I have family in Syria that are directly affected)

  • I've included a link to where people can donate and here is a link to their twitter page where they're giving regular updates. Here's a third link to donate in Euros
  • Molham, to those who don't know, are specifically a non profit, non government team that have been providing relief for displaced & refugee Syrians. They're now helping out with the Earth Quake.
  • Currently searching  for survivors and pull ing the dead from collapsed buildings

3. Islamic Relief (this link should work for all countries donating)

  • Has for a very long time been extremely reliable. I usually donate through them and they tend to help out people all cross the world. They currently have a team in Syria, last I've heard.
  • here's a link if you're donating specifically in Canada, UK, America,

please PLEASE donate.

Even one dollar, one pound, can go a long way.

And if you can't, PLEASE reblog!!

Syria needs help too! Syria matters too! They're not receiving aid for a variety of political reasons and they desperately need it!!!

The Death Toll of the Earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria may have reached 20,000 people, and that’s outside of all those who are injured and lost.

If you could donate PLEASE do!!!

Here’s a post full of charities you could donate to, but I’ll add my own trustworthy ones here:

  • Islamic Relief:  teams are on the ground right now providing emergency food assistance, shelter, medical supplies to hospitals and clinics, as well as blankets and tents for those made homeless by the quake in Turkey and Syria
  • MolhamThe team at Molham are currently on the ground helping displaced families in Turkey and Syria who have been affected by the earthquake
  • Turkish Red Crescent: The team are distributing essential aid to those affected by the earthquake across Turkey.
  • The White Helmets: The team are on the ground in Northwest Syria searching for survivors and removing the dead from the rubble.
  • Turkey Mozaik Foundation: Attempting to provide immediate relief and medium to long term recovery to survivors of the earthquake.
  • MSF: remaining in close contact with the local authorities in northwestern Syria and with the authorities in Turkey to extend their support where it’s needed. They’re providing essential life kits to displaced people in the region

please PLEASE reblog. Syria and Turkiye need our help!!!

More links, PLEASE reblog or repost and add more resources: OHCHR - Iran: Women and girls treated as second class citizens, reforms urgently needed, says UN expert Iran: Where the regime opposes women’s rights Read: The Wind In My Hair - My Fight For Freedom in Modern Iran by Masih Alinejad

Watch: Kiosk - Sweet Destiny (the movie) I don’t think I’ve ever asked my followers to reblog anything but this time it would mean. The actual world. To the people of Iran. If you could spread awareness of the Iranian people’s fight for freedom right now. I’m not on Twitter or Instagram (although this post is optimized for instagram so PLEASE FEEL FREE TO REPOST IT ON IG) but from what I could see there is not as much noise about this as it should be. Nor is it easy to find posts with resources and basic information. And on tumblr I’ve only seen some posts from dedicated feminist blogs or actual Iranians. And from what I’ve gathered they NEED US to share what’s going on. They are shutting down internet in Iran so it’s up to us to not let the world look past this, not this time. PLEASE join the fight for women’s rights!!!

the best thing that we can do right now to fight for abortion rights is donating to your local abortion fund, especially in states with “trigger laws” or laws that will immediately take harsh measures to shut down abortion rights as soon as roe is overturned. If you don’t know your local abortion fund or states with trigger laws, here’s one in Texas, one in Louisiana, one in Georgia, one in West Virginia and one in Mississippi (all states with such “trigger laws”). There’s so many more beyond the handful i just listed here but times like these are the time to donate and support the incredible work that these organizations do for their communities.

(1) Hello everyone. I'm from Ukraine. Please help spread the information about African and Nigerian students in Ukraine. #AfricansinUkraine

I read from @ nzekiev on twitter that the day before yesterday it was very hard for Africans to get on any train in Kyiv, they were letting them in the last, many managed to get in only coz they started pushing African women into the train so they had to allow everyone in. Before that if they managed to get on the train they were sent back outside with the phrase "Ukrainians first", but nobody was checking anyone's passports.

Today, February 27, he says the Ukrainian soldiers at the Polish border were holding them at gunpoint if they crossed the border before Ukrainians. These are students, they can't be fighting this war!!! Other people of color share on twitter that it's harder for them to cross the border, a Nigerian medical student told @ stephheharty they were told Ukrainians go first and were sent to the back of the queue by Ukrainian soldiers on Polish border.

@ Damilare_arah shared a video where Ukrainian soldiers block Africans from getting on trains. (https://twitter.com/Damilare_arah/status/1497654141350522880?t=rkNx-B9TffKopCRtfgZodA&s=19)

I can't figure out how to download videos from Twitter so I'm attaching screenshots. (https://twitter.com/Damilare_arah/status/1497855205098106880?t=gi_dUgx8nFI36KqlH-CeEA&s=19) (https://twitter.com/nzekiev/status/1497805019311218689?t=hz-3gS0hFxwAZQddLZI85w&s=19)

We must help. They can't be denied shelter while every other white Ukrainian gets to cross the border right before their eyes. @ chylady and @ Damilare_arah share all the important information for Africans and Nigerians on where to find help and also donations.

@ korrinesky is actively sharing all the information. This thread increases to this day and time https://twitter.com/korrinesky/status/1496770898019303427?t=oheEMMWK2KecFzPFWb05iA&s=19

They also have a Telegram chat for African and Caribbean students who are in Lviv but I can't seem to be able to copy the link directly so I'm sending the link to the tweet: https://twitter.com/korrinesky/status/1497661192038453251?t=1bzZxfWvu-zf-zQhFk4BMw&s=19

my living situation is currently unsafe and i need to escape before i am forced on the street

i need to pay off some debt(just the smallest and most urgent like credit cards) to get my credit up so i can find an appropriate place as well as first and last months rent

my roommate has threatened to out me as a swer to our landlord and has threatened to call the cops on me when i rightfully responded with anger and i cannot trust her or this place any longer

im really tired of asking for help but i can't go on the street because this chick has some issue with all of her black roommates(this isn't the first time she's called cops on black roommates who allegedly "went crazy")

my goal may change but right now it's 7000 for debt and rent and moving expenses(sorry i live in nyc and yall kno housing is fucking rough out here)

idk if y'all can help me but i have to try i'll also update the amount when i can add my own funds to this

the way ivan aivazovsky looks at the sea…i think…i think that’s what love looks like.

love is surrounding yourself with people who see you this clearly

Still the freakiest fact about him is that despite being as tall as a person or more, he banged out these beauties in a day or two at most (and smaller ones ina matter of hours). The longest he spent on a painting, at age 81, to make his largest ever painting, was TEN DAYS:

It is 2.9×4.3 meters large. That’s 9'4"×14'1" for people in other measurement systems. It’s HUGE. There are artists out there that spend years on paintings much smaller than this. He was not one of them.

He also didn’t only paint the sea, but he MOSTLY painted the sea. Very few people could draw light filtering through waves the way this guy did and apparently it was tied into his layering technique that allowed him to paint so goddamn fast.

He is obviously my most favorite painter ever.

The Amour of Armor.

Painting originally in an Iranian story-book.

[ID: a brightly-coloured painting of a lady and a knight lying horizontally together. The knight is on top of the lady; their armour is black with gold filigree, and it covers their entire body. Their crested visor obscures their eyes but not their mouth. They seem to be blushing, and their lips are parted.

The lady is looking up at the knight with gentle expression, her lips parted as well; she is wearing armour of her own, though hers is orange with gold filigree, and has no arm coverage. The knight lifts the lady’s visor to expose her full face, as well as her curly black hair. The lady is holding the shaft of an arrow that is lodged in the knight’s side, close to their chest.

The background is bright red, with blue, green, and dark red beneath where the knight and lay lie, and golden filigree swirls like fern fronds for decoration. /end ID]

The artist is Jennifer Hom, and her website is here.

Hi.

It has been… a very back-and-forth internal debate about whether or not I should do this, but my anxiety has been so through the roof that I feel I kind of have to swallow my pride and ask for any potential assistance.

Without disclosing too much (though I’d be willing to through DMs, if it’s needed), I am going through a messy break-up and not being given any time whatsoever to think about short-term arrangements, much less long-term ones, or even process the actual breaking up part. Currently I’m in Florida, and “home” is roughly 1800 miles (2900km) away in Colorado. I’m being not just pushed out, but rushed out, and I’ve been given pretty much no choice but to go and crash at a friend’s place in Arkansas come the 22nd, travelling there by bus.

I would be leaving behind everything that can’t fit in the suitcase and backpack I can bring—most notably my cat, who is the only pet of several I have begged to keep after this whole mess—with the promise of having stuff “shipped” to me and the implication that I won’t see my cat again, which I would like to prevent by being able to leave on my own. If that’s not possible, my main concern, then, is at least being able to get from Arkansas to Colorado, so I can figure it out from there with some IRL help.

Anything at all, even just a signal boost, would be a huge help. 💕
