Hello everyone because this is my diary and I can’t stop thinking about this I want to share that the front door to my family’s farm house was broken and the only way to get inside was to climb onto a ledge 3 or 4 feet off the ground, using a stepladder
And I grabbed my 84 year old grandmother (who is NOT senile and does not, in theory, need to be monitored like a toddler) by the shoulders and I spoke to her clearly, in Spanish, “Abuela, promise me you will not try to climb up and down without help. If you feel like going outside I WILL HELP YOU. As many times as you need help. We’ll get the door fixed but until then you do NOT go up or down that ladder without me or my mom helping you. I want you to look me in the eye and PROMISE ME. Because I love you and I’m worried you’ll get hurt. Do you understand? Do you promise?”
And she said all the right things and, as it turns out, LIED TO MY FACE because 12 hours later she (my 84 year old grandmother) jumped (THREE FEET) down onto solid concrete (THREE FEET DOWN) and fucking tucked and rolled like a paratrooper onto the grass, through some miracle, completely unharmed, and when I found her lying there I shrieked “ABUELA? SALTASTE?” (YOU JUMPED?) whereupon she (84) looked up at me and calmly said “Claro” (of course, or, obviously)
I do not know how she has not shattered every bone in her body but she got away with it without even a bruise. Anyway we fixed the front door.
I guess technically she didn’t lie because I told her not to use the stepladder by herself, I never made her promise not to jump!!!
The thing that kills me is that this is how old people DIE. They fall, sometimes from much shorter distances, break their hip, go to the hospital, and never come back out.
I banished her outside for a bit, for her jumping crimes, and very nearly hung a sign around her neck that said “I LOVE SCARING MY GRANDCHILDREN TO DEATH BY BARREL ROLLING OUT OF AN UNFINISHED BALCONY DOOR”

This is how I feel about Joshua Trees. They and avocado trees produce fruit meant to be eaten and dispersed by giant ground sloths. Without them, the Joshua Trees' range has shrunk by 90%.

Not only they, but the entire Mojave ecosystem is still struggling to adapt since the loss of ground sloth dung. their chief fertilizer.
Many, many trees and plants in the Americas have widely-spaced, extremely long thorns that do nothing to discourage deer eating their leaves, but would've penetrated the fur of ground sloths and mammoths. Likewise, if you've observed a tree that drops baseball or softball-sized fruit which lies on the ground and rots, like Osage Oranges, which were great for playing catch at my school, chances are they were ground sloth or mammoth chow.

Had so much fun making the paradox fakemon with @james-silvercat, that we just had to do more! This will probably be the last batch for me, but who knows if I will get a hankering for it again in the future.
So of course, explanation time (from top, left to right): We got an Electivire based around the concept of an escaped lab experiment and made to look like Ro-Man, a Ribombee based on the Mince Pie Martians, a Masquerain turned into the Van Meter Visitor and a Sudowoodo based on the Georgia Stalks. Then we got a Delibird that is part Tuscumbia Space Penguin and part alien abductor cliche (why the actual paradox Delibird didn’t go that route is beyond me), a Lunatone based on the UFO seen by Kenneth Arnold, a Solrock that is based on a chariot wheel (which tends to be mentioned when talking ancient aliens and angels) with also the idea of a UFO shaped like a ferris wheel (which my Scholastic Alien Encyclopedia says has been sighted before, but this book is all sorts of wrong on a bunch of stuff, so maybe not) and then finally an Exeggcute that is the pods from Invasion of the Body Snatchers. This ROTOMS have made the ruins their homes and have possesed the powe tools left on site.
Their types are: Hedge Trimmer - Electric/Bug Power Drill - Electric/Steel Roller Compactor - Electric/Ground Jackhammer - Electric/Rock Cement Mixer - Electric/Poison
After progressing in the history and returning back to the abbandoned plaza, you would gain access to a deeper area of the construction site where larger equipment was stored, if you take the Kroelian ROTOMS to this area and get them close its matching construction vehicle, ROTOM will evolve into ROTOMEISTER
ROTOMEISTER keeps the same typing as its previous form but will not be able to change forms like ROTOM does, but the signature move they had will be also upgraded into a more powerful move
Trimmer Form - Electric/Bug Drill Form - Electric/Steel Roller Form - Electric/Ground Hammer Form - Electric/Rock Mixer Form- Electric/Poison
They all have the ability Technician, but can have the Hidden Ability "Heavy Gear", this ability raises the pokemon ATK if its SPD is raised, and raises its DEF if its SPD is lowered
And after further progress in the story, you should be able to reach the lowest level of the Abandoned site, where an Item can be found, it is called the Supercharger, this item is special battery that can power up several machines at the same time and was still in its testing phase during the original site construction to energize the machinery
If this item is given to ROTOMEISTER and then it is activated close to the other machines, a new form can be achieved: ROTOMEISTER-V
ROTOMEISTER-V is the combined form of all possible ROTOMEISTER forms, it is an Electric/Fighting type Any signature move it previously had will become a new even more powerfull move called Demolition Demolition Fighting Type PP 5 Power 150 Acc 90% -A powerful punch using its arm drill charged with all its energy, this move is treated as Electric type as well, user must recharge the turn after. It has the ability Heavy Gear by default
