At 70 years old, Wisdom is the oldest known living wild bird in the world! A Laysan albatross, she’s lived a long ocean-dwelling life, flying over 3 million miles while foraging on the sea’s surface and returning to land to breed. She hatched her most recent chick in February 2021!
Baby Pyrgus spends like 5 minutes meandering around his mum and nuzzling every centimetre of her wool when he wants to nurse, it’s so funny, it looks like he keeps forgetting where he found milk last time.
I’ve received lots of visits today (the librarian, the mayor, the grocery shop lady, etc) and at some point everyone was standing a few metres away making fun of this 2-day-old child for being confused and lost.
