It hasn’t been asked before, but if you’re unsure about this you could search on my blog for the tag. If there is none, it’s probably something new :)
Before I write down some advice, just a warning. I’m actually not personally familiar with polyamory, I’ve only seen it on TV (shout out to my favourite show Sense8), so I would recommend also checking out some first-hand accounts, which Tumblr is a good place for, I think.
Also keep in mind that relationships vary a lot and there are different ways on how to be polyam. There could also be all people in a relationship with each other or people having separate relationships with more than one partner.
How to write a polyamorous relationship
- the basics of polyam relationships are pretty similiar to monogamous ones
- most important thing: good, honest communication
- having a talk before entering the relationship with everyone involved about what everyone wants and needs out of this relationship, where the boundaries of each person are and how to accomplish their relationship in the way they all want
- repeating that conversation every so often to see if everyone is still happy or if there is something that needs to be adjusted
- make clear what the rules of the relationship are
- is it an open or a closed relationship? What would be seen as cheating? What would happen if someone breaks the rules?
- do show conflict, even if you want to show a healthy polyam relationship there will always be conflict if two or more people are together
- in a monogamous society it’s normal to have some kind of outside pressure and having moments of doubt
- again, just focus on their communication skills to handle this conflict and reassure everyone in the partnership
- show the relationship between all the partners, but also focus on the individual ones
- having rituals and traditions with different partners
- taking different parts in the relationship
- the rational one, the caring one, the affectionate one, the goofy one, the protective one, etc.
- fair division of labor, like house chores, caring, work
- needing a lot of closet space if they live together
- maybe having different rooms they can retreat to
- not all of them sleeping in the same bed every night
- having cups with their initials on them to not confuse them all the time

Friday, July 14th: Hello everyone, I’m Gemma, a bi, mentally ill, and disabled woman in desperate need of help, as I'm struggling to keep my utilities on and pay off my overdrawn account!!
As most of you are already aware from my previous posts, I have been struggling financially these past few years due to Covid-19 and my welfare benefit (Universal Credit) being under continuous reviews, which is due to my worsening mental/physical health and the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned. After a lengthy health assessment, I have been declared not to be fit for work. However, I am still waiting for the outcome of my Adult Disability application, which I applied for back in January.
I know this is a difficult time for everyone, and I'm so sorry to be asking for help again, but I still desperately need some as my PayPal is overdrawn due to charge-backs and I don't receive my welfare until the 31st, which isn't enough to cover my overdue rent + utility bills and I'm still struggling to get groceries.
If anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would save my life, and sharing definitely helps just as much. Thank you so much for all your help!! ❤

The good news:
- Chronological dash is here to stay! Whether you have to toggle it weekly or new users default to “For you” was not elaborated on but at least that’s confirmed.
- Custom themes are here to stay! Once again, may be buried for all I know but, for sure will remain an option.
- Search updates are in the works!!!!
The neutral news:
- Tumblr is seriously in the red financially and needs more support, Ad-free for example is not widely used
- They would not comment on the suggestion to bring back NSFW behind a paywall (which we all know would get them a boatload of money)
- They’re possibly going to add a donation system like Ao3 and Wikipedia.
- They would “rather not” sell data to make up the costs
- Most of staff are pre-2010 tumblr users including the CEO who joined in 2007, so they do actually use the site and have for a long time
The bad news:
- Condensed reblogs/removing reblog chains is going forward. The reason cited was to meet “certain expectations” of users coming from other social media, which isn’t good.
- Disability features (specifically turning off flashing ads for epileptics) was met with a request to purchase Ad-free
Overall it was more chill than I expected, @photomatt and @zingring seem to be far more in tune with the userbase than u/spez.
Under the bad news column:
I did ask our ads team to investigate any kind of vibrancy or flashing on ads - we do not want to accidentally trigger seizures or cause distress with flashing etc. Buying ad-free (or gifting ad-free to someone else) is always an option, but that is not the solution (and of course, some folks simply can't afford it). Sorry that it sounded dismissive in the session! That was not my intent.

Depending on how that looks/if it can be turned off, that could kill the site as surely as removing chronological following only feeds would...
We want reblogs, not rooted posts with comments under them. At that point you are just Facebook...
y'all are absolutely free to use tumblr however you please but I want redditors to know that they could, hypothetically, start a sideblog about a particular topic, add moderators to it, turn on submissions (and asks), make an "about" page laying out rules and such, and create a good tagging system. If you want it to be a bit more familiar.

Tumblr is giving us a lot of different dashes but the thing is no one wants "for you" so what I propose instead is you give me the ability to make mini-dashes with specific subsets of people I follow. Let me follow 300 people but then sort them into category. Let me have one dash for all my aesthetic stuff, another for news, another for my weird feral friends. Am I the only one who wants this? Maybe. Give it to me anyway.
This would absolutely revolutionize the way I use Tumblr. I would probably spend like 20% more time on Tumblr if I could follow a bunch of people I like but who I do not want on my "these are my friends and idols" dash.
