August 20th, 1953: John Vachon was granted access to Marilyn, and to his surprise, Joe DiMaggio as well. He was allowed in her suite for over two hours, and in a letter to his girlfriend he called Marilyn ‘a very interesting girl’. Joe was there for the first hour and they snapped some photographs.
