An Analysis of HSR Bronseele Because I Can

I just played the Belobog storyline and oh my god, I'm in love with this pairing. They're so well written. I didn't expect them to be this good considering that while I like HI3 Bronseele, for me they're a little boring, but this ship in this game SURPASSED my expectations.

So buckle up as I hyperfixate on every little detail because I'm gay and neurodivergent.

Firstly, their designs round each other off perfectly. They both have blues, purples and reds to some extent, but what differentiates them is that Bronya's palette is dominated by lighter colours, compared to Seele's with darker colours.

When they meet, they are . . . not on good terms. Hell, this ship is the definition of enemies to lovers. But it doesn't take long for the dynamic to begin evolving.

Bronya starts seeing what the actions of her mother have led to in the Underworld, and the poverty situation. This was something concealed to her — and to the citizens of Belobog — throughout her life. She was never evil, just was lied to, and now that she's seeing the truth, her perspective is changing.

When she gives away her medal, something important to her, that challenges Seele's perspective on her and the Overworld citizens. Bronya is a kind and generous person, and that's what makes Seele starts to fall in love with her — her kindness.

When Bronya falls into self pity upon realizing she's an Underworlder, feeling more guilty that she's betrayed her own folk, Seele calls her out on it. It's not a response she expected, but it's one she needed. And that's why she falls in love with Seele, the person who's the personification of a wildfire — who'll pull Bronya out of her dark situations, hold her accountable, and so on. Seele is brave, honest and blunt, and that's what Bronya loves about her.

And it's in this heart-to-heart that Seele sympathises with Bronya's life situation with constant rules, etiquettes and expectations. Seele has thus sparked something new and different in Bronya's life, the rebellious side she was missing throughout her days. Seele brings something new to Bronya that she absolutely needs.

And at this point, this is where their worldviews finally align — they want to bring back the good old days where the Overworld and Underworld were in harmony, and unite the citizens. And Seele straight up says she wants to create that future alongside Bronya.

Seele at this point considers Bronya important to her, willing to follow her and save her in whatever happens that's disastrous in the future. And she never goes back on her word. At this point it's apparent they love each other.

And when the tragedy of Cocolia's death falls upon Bronya, there's no one she can confide in about her grief due to having to keep it a secret from the public — except the other Belobog citizen who witnessed it, Seele. These two will support each other as they rebuild the system of Belobog.

And despite their clashes and disagreements, one thing is clear — they'll still remain united and find a way to help Belobog's situation and make the planet a better place to live. And thus, they're the personification of the moral of the Belobog story — despite our differences and disagreements, we can still come together to make this world a better place to live.

And that's it for my hyperfixation rambling! I'll make more posts on the Belobog story because I absolutely love this arc but for now, this college essay will do 💀.

Waiting for new shippers who joined through Honkai Star Rail to discover the beauty of the Azure Waters manga.

Just keep in mind that this applies to the HI3 continuity, not HSR so much, but can still be read for the gay angst. Their story continues in HI3 for sure though, if you want to know what happens next.

Please be careful with the triggering topics of sexual assault/CSA when you read it though 🙏.

"I can fix him" good for you. I need to craft a scenario in which he betters himself, to prove to myself that I can meaningfully atone despite how much of myself I see in him.

"I can make him worse" I can too but first I have to prove that there was hope for him somewhere, at some point, which he rejected. Because if there was never any hope for him, what hope is there for me?

parents are so crazy because they can say the most fucked up shit to you when your brain is forming and it sets the tone for your whole adult mind set and then they forget about it the next day

The differences in Percy learning Nico wants to leave camp vs Will is so funny to me and actually very telling.

Yes, these two scenes are a few years apart, but the fact that they literally had opposite reactions cracks me up.

Percy was like, "I don't like it, but you're right. You don't belong. Okay, bye!"

And Will was like, "The only one who thinks you don't belong is you! You have a place here, no matter what anyone says! If you actually gave us a chance, you'll see some people are actually interested in getting to know you!!!"

Literally opposites. Percy agreed that Nico didn't belong and didn't even try to convince Nico to give camp a chance, while Will was more offended at the idea that Nico thought he didn't belong at camp than at the fact that Nico didn't want to stay.

It's just so funny to me.

Percy’s reaction makes a lot more sense when you consider how much the campers pushed him away when he was first claimed by Poseidon, who doesn’t even have as dark a reputation. Everybody hated him, everyone avoided him, and he was kicked out after a week to go on a death quest. Then a year later, after he was finally accepted at camp, he had to gain their trust all over again when his cyclops brother came to camp. Besides, Percy has had his fair share of moments wanting to leave the camp and the judgement of the other campers, and go train with his father under the sea.

Percy must have been thinking “if things were this bad for me, how much worse would it be for Nico, who will have much darker powers and would still have to stay in the overcrowded Hermes cabin?”

Does this make him right? No of course not. If Nico had stuck around, the other campers could have worked through their discomfort with him over time. He certainly could have tried harder to convince Nico that the other campers could overcome their instinctive fear. But Percy’s not in the habit of making others do anything against their will. He always lets people take the path they think is best for them, no matter how much he would prefer to interfere. Letting his mom deal with Smelly Gabe herself. Letting go of Tyson so he could go join the Cyclops forges. Not arguing when Thalia joins the Hunters of Artemis. Even going home at the end of every summer, saying goodbye to Camp Half Blood and Annabeth, when it would have been safer to stay and train year round.
